But why would I punch a person when I have a nice set of gloves and bag in the relaxing comforts of my own home

it's foolish to think releasing frustration by attacking an object is going to help you, it's a good short term solution but you will be a million times better off focusing on calming down when you get angry and frustrated to help avoid it to begin with, otherwise your brain will associate anger and frustration with hurting something and that means if you are actually angry and irrational and someone annoys you you are more prone to ending up attempting to hurt them because it's how your brain is used to dealing with your frustration and that's fucking retarded
if you legitimately think using a punching bag when you aren't calm is a good idea you're not only a danger to yourself you're a danger to the people around you, if you need to physically release your stress and anger you're a mess of a person that needs to look into themselves and resolve their issues through thought and not physical abuse of objects, anger shouldn't be such a fucking big deal that you can't calm yourself down unless you hit something because if that is actually the case you have legit anger management issues

It is a safe and healthy way of relieving pent up stress and anger, and provides great exercise.

yeah because hardwiring your brain through training into associating stress and anger with physical abuse IS ALWAYS GOING TO RESULT IN GOOD THINGS
