When you've lost people you know to shit like this you'll maybe learn to have some empathy and a bit of fucking perspective. And I dont give a fuck what you think. You're just some emotionally detached autist that thinks tragedy is funny. Have fun with life thinking like that. I hope you die slowly in a fire

yes... we do. Fresh water at least. Do some research. Droughts, dying aquifers www.businessinsider.com/nasa-data-shows-the-world-is-running-out-of-water-2015-6 engineering.columbia.edu/will-we-run-out-fresh-water-21st-century
We are using water faster than the hydrologic cycle can replace it. You know california right now? Shortages like that will become more severe and commonplace as time goes on.

Also, to address a few of anon 18's points
>20billion barrels of oil would be used up by america in under 4 years given current usage rates.
>wind and solar are promising technologies, but currently limited by extremely high initial cost, and cannot be universally used
They don't provide constant power, making them useful only as supplementary power. We need a new primary source such as fission or fusion to become widely used within the next decade at the latest.
>Birth rates are slowing. And that's awesome. But a planet the size of earth can only support roughly 5 billion people with our current level of technology Ideally more around 4.3-4.5 billion We exceed this number by nearly 50%
>With current medical science I don't think its a good idea to count on a global pandemic wiping out a third of the global population and kicking us back into the sustainable range. A nice world war might do it, though as stated in the initial post, the death toll of that war needs to 53 times that of ww2.

These are ridiculous numbers. Crazy, stupid, frightening numbers. But unfortunately they're real. Our generation will have to solve these problems: and right now many people aren't even willing to believe that these problems are real.
