I've found that whilst any troll, fool or dickhead can provoke a shitstorm, there is no better way to send the red-thumbs flying...
...Than to politely disagree with someone.

"When the [building destroyer tag] value is 2 the creature will actively seek out buildings and destroy them. They can also destroy buildings during world-gen with this tag. Megabeasts rely on this token for their pathing when attacking your fort. Constructions (walls, staircase, floors, etc.) are still safe, since they're processed the same way natural terrain is for most situations."

they don't actually, closed drawbridges count as walls
User avatar #36 - galaxyguy (08/28/2015) [-]
Yeah but I am pretty sure they're building destroyer 2's which also destroy walls. They destroy anything other than natural terrain, which basically just means that you need a cave-in to seal off the fun.

What game is this?
User avatar #71 - galaxyguy (08/29/2015) [-]
Dwarf Fortress. It's an ASCII game ("graphics" are just symbols with colour), and probably the most detailed and complex strategy/adventure/citybuilding/simulation game in the world.

We're talking in spoiler tags because we're talking about massive spoilers known as HFS, which every player should have a chance to discover on their own before learning of it from other players
User avatar #45 - anotherhaloguy (08/28/2015) [-]
Because you can't place that there my lord
User avatar #27 - greyhoundfd (08/28/2015) [-]
See, here's what I've never understood with all the stories about opening up to the HFS and such: why don't people just build a fucking drawbridge in their fort to separate the living areas from the mining areas? HFS shows up? Just lift the bridge and they can't kill all your dwarves.
User avatar #30 - galaxyguy (08/28/2015) [-]
Some of them fly, and all of them are building destroyers. They'll fly up and destroy the drawbridge and continue the_ fun._

Where's the fun in that?

Also some of them can fly I believe, since they're all randomly generated, so good luck.

Since you never got a conclusive answer to your question of how long a foot is here is the imperial measurement system (for lengths) in comparison to the metric:

1 inch = 2.54 inches, or "1 thumb" if you have ever heard of that expression (the average width of a thumb is 1 inch)
1 foot = 12 inches = 30,48 cm. It is usually just said as 1/3'rd a meter.
1 yard = 3 feet = 91,44 cm, usually just rounded up and said to be the same as a meter, but that is the exact measurement.
1 chain = 22 yards = 2011.68 cm. This unit is almost never used, but it's always nice to know.
1 Furlong = 10 chains = 20116,8 cm. ALSO almost never used..
1 Mile = 8 furlongs = 160934,4 cm, or commonly called 1.6 km.
1 League = 3 miles = 482803,2 cm ~ 4,8 km. Once more, not so commonly used.

The ones you will mostly encounter in day to day imperial measurement using countries are:
Inch
Foot
Yard
Mile

If you can remember the measurements for those 4, you're more or less set.
