Study works of fiction that are fantasy based and learn how they create their world.

Study cultures from around the world and learn how geography shaped their traditions, beliefs, and way of life. Even in a fantasy world, these factors are important.

I'd say magic is a must, so learn how to create your own rules for magic.

Knights, Kings, and Wizards are a staple of fantasy, include them in some way to solidify that it's fantasy, but have your own spin on them.

Backstory and Lore are important, so be sure to write those along with your main plot to create a world that seems alive.

You're saying there would be a king of some sort in Scrap and Topheavy?
