Because it is out of context. I have yet to learn of any settings for Windows 10, that make people go 'muh privacy', that can't be disabled. Some people are just too retarded to do a custom install.

Only some of the things can be turned off, and some things will turn themselves on again after some time.

Also I've read that windows update is impossible to turn off, which is a problem as they will most likely add more data collection after enough people have installed windows 10

The growing use of info-graphics makes me sad. No citations, no context, no way of knowing that anything you are seeing is authentic.

It took me 5 seconds on google to find multiple methods to disable automatic windows updates.

And the idea that anything disabled, is eventually re-enabled with no changes to the system sounds ludicrous. If something becomes re-enabled, either you didn't use the right method to disable it, or you downloaded an update that restarted it.

So far every single claim I have encounter of windows having privacy violating settings that can't be dealt with, I have found solutions to in a single google search.

Real solutions? or websites telling you to download and run some weird script?

But Microsoft themselves wrote that telemetry can't be disabled unless you have the enterprise version, so I'm guessing it's not easy to do.

So it might be possible with a lot of work, but 95% of users will have no idea how to do it

All the solutions i have seen are real, literally just guides to where to find the options, or the methods to disable features.

A work around for Windows Telemetry on not enterprise systems took 10 seconds.
I googled: "disabling windows 10 telemetry" and bam, a pretty simple work around. winaero.com/blog/how-to-disable-telemetry-and-data-collection-in-windows-10/
Would the average user know how to do this? Maybe not. But if they don't have the basic technical proficiency to follow the instructions above, then chances are they don't know how to, and haven't disabled the mountain of other services and devices gathering their info.

Like it or not, big data, data analytics, are a vital part of the modern tech industry, and have spread to just about every corner of business too. We could argue on the philosophy and morality of this data collection until the end of time (although not the legality, because everybody is accepting all the relevant EULA's and the collection isnt violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse act). The point is, it is happening, and it is everywhere, even where you don't expect it. The uproar over the collection Windows 10 is doing is absurd because they have been doing similar collection for a long time, and it is fairly standard methods they are using, which doesn't suggest any malicious intent, just business as usual.

The media outrage machine, and the conspiracy machine, love to stir up thoughts of dark, evil, actions. Unfortunately, thanks to Snowden, we know that the Government has access to data collection that dwarfs anything business uses. If W10 collection is a TIE Fighter, the NSA is the Death Star. At least no one other than my telecom in the business world knows my exact location whenever they want. But the government sure does.

That change may work for disabling telemetry (Until Windows makes it not work)
But 95% of users either can't or don't want to edit registy data.
So the solution is pretty bad.

It's true that most corporations collect your information but that still doesn't make it okay to do, and if we don't do anything about it, it will get even worse.
It's also dangerous to keep that much information about people, as it makes hacker attacks more profitable (and more likely) and makes it easier for hackers to steal your identity.

And big corporations is exactly where the NSA has all its information from. The NSA has either hacked into or requested data from Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc.

Get off the MS dick, we all know you love its scrotum in your mouth.

If I was on the MS dick, I wouldn't still be using 7, waiting until 10 actually gets its bugs fixed and edges smoothed out, before upgrading. If I was on the MS dick, I would have a windows phone.

I find it especially funny, that people complain about the Windows 10 functions that gather data, then surf the web to complain about it, while owning mobile phones. Your privacy is a fucking myth either way.
