First, I love that you posted this with your username, that's hilarious.

Simply put, I disagree with you. I think you and many people misinterpret the meaning of the term Black Lives Matter. And I understand that regardless of the movement you tend to be represented by your radical branches, but that doesn't mean that everyone believes that, or that the people who are significant players in the movement agree with it. The way Killer Mike described it when he talked to Bernie Sanders was "Of course Black Lives Matter, because all lives matter." When framed that way, and I believe this is what most of the protesters believe, it makes much more sense to me.

Like I said, I'm not associating myself as part of BLM, but it is true that Police seem to profile minorities much more than whites (look it up on Wikipedia and look at some of the sources they cite from academia one of the abstracts claims "Police that are checking for illegal drugs are much more likely to search the vehicles of African-Americans...").

I realise you may not be arguing that they aren't targeted, and you're right that they are disproportionately criminals in many areas. But you still can't profile them because it leads to this sort of distrust. If you're a law abiding citizen and constantly being stopped by police thinking that you're trafficking or selling drugs, it will naturally result in distrust between the two parties. Additionally, profiling also in terms of small 'L' liberal ideology is frowned upon. One should be judged as an individual and not a collective, especially in the United States where the ideology is so focused on freedom and individual rights.

Consequently, BLM is a movement birthed out of the frustration that is associated with this profiling. They have gone so far as to claim they are being killed unjustly, which I mostly disagree with except for a few cases out there.

On your claim that 'Police should have automatic trust' I disagree with that from an ideological and political theory position. I personally trust police, I have no distrust towards them. But I find it interesting that this seems to go against the ideology behind the Second Amendment. To clarify, the Second Amendment was put in place to protect against a tyrannical government, and it naturally pushes the American people to be wary of their government. The Police are representatives of the government and thus, from a political theory perspective, should have to earn our trust constantly. For me, they have, but for BLM they feel (rightly or wrongly) that their police force is this tyrannical beast that the founding fathers warned them about.

On a different note, good luck on becoming a police officer, stay safe keeping our communities safe.
