what makes it untrue?
i mean, these people have to wait for a link to heaven from god,
how do you know that this isnt it?
im not trying to promote christianity or any other religion im just saying, that the priest was trying to connect old tribal religion to the new one, im not sure if he was actually converting them or not, they might have already been converted for a long itme.
i was talking to the priest guy, and he told me little bits about it, he spoke a little bit of the language and talked about the little church he set up and how one day he was asking the churchgoers "who is jesus for you" and he was getting generic answers like "a father" or "god" and stuff like that but one of the elderly raised his hand and said the african word for a link to god. i dont remember what the word was, but it was something like memna.

User avatar #173 - lolollo (07/21/2014) [-]
Most of the publicity is coming from the fact that "militant, gnostic atheists" have been looking to the pope for ages as a reason to say that religions are just a "money grab for power". Now that there's a pope who's actually acting like Christianity tries to teach out of its followers, both sides are both relieved, and pissed. It still amazes me how the same sort of people who would make the argument I noted above are now making the argument that he's "not acting like a pope should."

Personally, I'm just relieved that this guy's able to prove that it's the man who makes the position, and not the other way around. He's not "the paragon for religion!" he's just someone who exemplifies what religion is SUPPOSED to do.

There is a big difference when talking to people one-on-one and talking in groups. When talking to just one other person both people should mind what they say a bit more carefully. If they're unable to discuss a topic without offending one another then they shouldn't be talking about it in the first place.

Generally speaking, when talking in groups you (the speaker) should mind you don't say something that's too harshly worded to express. There's almost always a polite way to get your thoughts heard. More people will respect your opinion that way, even if it clashes with their own. Think of the characters Doctor House and Doctor Wilson from House M.D. --House shares a view sorta like yours. He gets his point across but in turn, people don't really like him. Wilson on the other hand is much more polite and always tries to be considerate when talking, resulting in him being generally more "liked" by patients.

The people listening should also mind they don't involve personal values in a group discussion. You're right that they shouldn't be "cowards" and just accept that different people have different opinions and that the truth can be hard to swallow. Of course, this whole post is just MY opinion. It's like going to see a comedian. If some of the jokes are just too much it's better to leave rather than start a scene.

TLDR: It really comes down to being considerate when both speaking and listening. It's not required, but it helps make friends.

Thanks, if you wish to follow what's going on, I've actually just made a facebook page like 10 minutes ago, we're at the moment 2-3 people working on content for Skyrim.

The page obviously isn't worth much at the moment, but soon I'll add some screenshots of places around the world, and eventually I'll make it into a real page with daily / weekly updates for your feed. ;)
