Because you'll need those Aircraft Carriers when you're in a economic crisis, Canadian banks FTW!!!
User avatar #116 - fluffymcnutter (04/07/2012) [-]
urrrr when did this become about economics? I thought we were just flexing our muscles...
User avatar #126 - ruzzell (04/07/2012) [-]
nothing was really said about flexing muscles......I was just saying a positive about Canada. The same way you said a positive about the USA.....eh?
#146 - fluffymcnutter (04/07/2012) [-]
I never said anything was said about flexing muscles, that was IMPLIED considering the pic was a big burly man carrying a big axe
User avatar #156 - ruzzell (04/07/2012) [-]
I knew it was implied.....no need to take words so literal, ironic you thinking that I don't understand you when you don't understand me. My point still stands, you said a positive thing about the US(while insulting Canada) so I said a positive thing about Canada.
User avatar #168 - fluffymcnutter (04/07/2012) [-]
but boasting on your economy isn't "flexing muscle." That's the point I was trying to make
User avatar #176 - ruzzell (04/07/2012) [-]
well what's the point of having muscle if there is nothing to feed it? If the economy falls apart in most cases so does the army, And if i did try and compare pure muscle between Canada And the US. It would be in vain. US population 300 million while Canada 34 million and both countries have around the same tech so the US has obvious "muscle" strength. That's their positive, So I used one of Canada's best strengths economy. Even during the modern depression our banks remained completely stable. While a lot of US banks failed, So Canada has obvious strength their. Do you see what i'm getting at now?
User avatar #177 - fluffymcnutter (04/07/2012) [-]
I got where you were getting at from the beginning but nice paragraph regardless. And since you decided to elaborate on boasting on your economy as flexing muscle (If the economy falls apart in most cases so does the army), don't forget that during the Great Depression the U.S. was able to mobilize and win a war on 2 fronts in WW2
User avatar #178 - ruzzell (04/07/2012) [-]
True....but the great depression ended because of turning the country into a giant war machine, which created millions of jobs, which also leads to better economy. But also causes environmental damage from all the new work being done on the land. Which in some places the land is still recovering.....anyway your still right, im just saiyain there were consequence's for fixing the economy that way.

I highly disagree. Being the incumbent and given Romney's history as well as the amount of money Obama has, Obama has a much higher chance to win. Not that it makes any difference, they are all the same.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. I KNOW Obama would destroy Santorum. And that's the joke in the content, that Santorum is too socially conservative. What I'm saying is that it's not even gonna matter cause he won't even get the Republican nomination. Romney's nearly got that in the bag.

If it was supposed to be him at age 20 in the pic then why wouldn't it have that written where it has "Phil" and it's pointing to the character? It sucks that you didn't get the joke. It's pretty obvious he drew it at age 20

Naive suckers like me eh? Have you watched the movie? Have you ever been bullied?

It is not just something popular to get behind. The movie is supposed to be shown to kids to show them the effect their habit of torture has on the kids they torment. I have a feeling you grew up fucking with the weaker kids and are now just trying to defend yourself.
User avatar #385 - fluffymcnutter (04/01/2012) [-]
lmao it's funny because I was picked on nearly every day in high school. I was quiet and tried to stay under the radar most of the time but there would still be those embarrassing insults thrown at me by the same kids. I was bullied physically occasionally in elementary school but as I grew older it became verbal. It's something that MOST kids have to go through and it's been going on for all of existence. Like I said, it's definitely a problem and I hope this movie makes some "bullies" more empathetic.

So the wording of how they described it is what has you pissed off? Really? THAT is what has your balls tied in a knot? Kids are growing up to be serial killers and you are concerned with the wording of what they use to describe it. Bravo sir, bravo.
User avatar #374 - fluffymcnutter (04/01/2012) [-]
Not just with this pic but yes, it's the idea being shoved down our throats by the media that bullying is something unique to modern society. It's the new and hip cause to get behind for celebs. And in the end, what can be done about it? "Raising awareness" is only a feel-good term used by the media and vapid celebs to try and stay relevant and they strike the chords of naive suckers like you

It isn't, and kids were still killing themselves back then. Though I like how you were a big man and thumbed me down. Scary.

The reason the message is getting out is because now they have ways of getting the message out. We didn't have the technology to spread the message. It is a big deal. I was one of those kids and I still have issues because of it, and I got off easy. These kids grow up to be murderers, rapists, serial killers or just traumatized, lonely fucked up human beings. Are you telling me that isn't a problem?

Just about every sick fucker out there has the same backstory: Bad childhood, was either abused or bullied, was always calm and quiet, they don't understand why it happned. It happened because now their head is all fucked up and now they have power, and they are going to use it to make people feel the pain that they did.

So tell me, is it still not a problem?
User avatar #338 - fluffymcnutter (04/01/2012) [-]
Still haven't answered my question...

Regardless, bullying is definitely a problem. The common cold is a problem. Dyslexia is a problem. Dementia is a problem. NONE of them are a fuckin epidemics!

The Black Death was an epidemic. Influenza in the early 20th century was an epidemic. AIDS in the 80s was an epidemic.

Know the difference between an epidemic and something that is a natural part of human nature.

Yes, because kids being tortured all over the world and killing themselves over it isn't a big deal. The difference from 2000 years ago is these children aren't allowed to legally murder their tormentor.
User avatar #245 - fluffymcnutter (04/01/2012) [-]
But they were allowed to murder their tormentor 60 years ago?...didn't think so. So again, what makes the bullying any different now than it was at any other point in human history?
