I have horrible social skills and a dark side that doesn't help much. What do?

easiest way to make friends is to find people with similar interests as you, and will accept you for who you are. and i'll always be your pal :D

Unfortunately there aren't too many things I like about myself so I don't think I'd want to be around others like me. Sometimes I think about how pathetic I am and cry at night, go to bed, then start crying some more on my pillow when I wake up in the morning. Luckily I go through mood swings so the middle of the day usually isn't so bad, happy even, but that's just 1/3-1/2 of the day when I'm feeling even alright.

theres nothing wrong with crying, and things will probably get better, life has it's ups and downs, and since you're down theres nowhere to go but up!

Or further down. The only thing that keeps me from acting out my suicidal thoughts is the fact I still have my loved ones even though I don't have any real friends. I'm 25, no job, live with my parents, and just make money selling MLP:FiM stuff on eBay. I have no exceptional or even adequate talents, no inspiration to better myself, can't read more than a paragraph in a book at a time thanks to my ADD (so needless to say I'm not very bright), and if it weren't for the fact my death would make a small handful of people sad I would have killed myself long before my life took a turn for the worse 5 years ago and has only gotten even worse and worse. I was even contemplating gold digging to get out of my situation but would rather fall in genuine love that I'd be happy to have.

you're bound to be good at something, are you athletic or good with computers, you could join the armed forces maybe, volunteer somewhere or join the peace corps to gain a new perspective on life. suicide i feel is never the answer because as you stated it could hurt loved ones, even cause them to kill themselves, apply to as many places as possible, did you go to college? if so head into whatever field you majored in.

I am in college. In my 5+ year even though I was in a 2 year plan due to me failing classes. I'm not strong enough mentally or physically for the army. I was an artist once but lost my inspiration almost 10 years ago. My family is way too strong to kill themselves over me. I admit the outside world scares me so I rarely leave my room.

maybe one day you'll get that creativity back. completing college will open new doors for you, and perhaps gradually venture to the outside world, maybe a walk around the block or go to a local store. talk to neighbors, coworkers when you get a job, what about fellow college students?

Nothing in common with them and I already go out in public to run arens when needed. I was thinking about going to a singles gathering but knowing me, if someone doesn't talk to me first I'm just going to be a wallflower the whole time then as enough time passes go cry in a bathroom stall about how no one notices or wants to talk to me.
