no when my window was open all summer my bedroom was full of moths when the lights were on and at night they used to fly into my laptop screen and freak me out so now when they land on my screen i just burn them with my lighter! and i dont know if you noticed but they're wings are covered with a colourfull scaley dust like substance and if you hit them with a rolled up magazine or ps/xbox game box they smear EVERYWHERE!

If you add 5% to the width, you'd reduce the effect by 10%. Remember, you're not only reducing the resistance, but also increasing the mass that has to be heated.
And if I'm not mistaken, it would add only about 15% to the lightbulb's life, seeing as what causes the lightbulbs to burn out in the first place (at least to my understanding) is the erosion of the crystal lattice of the metal as a result of the electrons losing energy from the release of photons.
