Normal tubes of toothpaste have symmetry anyway, minus the writing.

Yes, but this one has TWO LINES OF SYMMETRY.

You mean three.
Normal tubes have two.

Oryly? I'm curious, enlighten me. For I only see two on this tube.

One running longways across the tube, on the cap it would be a vertical line.
One running longways across the tube, on the cap it would be a horizontal line.
One in the center of the tube.

Since the cap is circular, would it not have an infinite amount of lines of symmetry?
User avatar
#17 - aldheim (09/02/2012) [-]
The cap, yes. The rest, no.

Oh. But since the toothpaste tube would be a cylinder at the start, it'd start with an infinite amount of lines of symmetry and as it is used the number would vary.

Once it's used it would probably go down to zero, since the impression marks wouldn't be symmetrical.
And a toothpaste tube, even that one, is slightly flattened.

You are right, of course. There needs to be a toothpaste tube holder that can squeeze out toothpaste while leaving symmetrical markings.
