If you saw a nigger in the neighborhood, you'd lock your doors too. I bet Michelle was pretty scared.

while you are right there is one thing business owners can do, this is just wishful thinking though so don't take me or this idea seriously, business owners can maybe, take home less money? What I'm saying is that they should follow the Cosco method, the CEO of Cosco takes home the minimum a CEO makes, $500k, even though his company makes billions of $, what does he do with the profits? He puts it straight back to the company, allowing even the lowest level workers to earn about $15 an hour without raising his prices. What I'm saying is, I wish owners could realize that they're still making lots of money at $500k and should put their profits into their company and not into themselves.

Most people who have made it to the top have worked hard to get there and have earned the money that they are receiving. They shouldn't have to cut their own paycheck to make up for the profits the government is forcing them to lose.

I'm not saying the government should force business owners to take home less money, this just a personal decision that I think more business owners should do. If I for example owned a company that's worth say $60 billion, I would do everything in my power to put that money to use into my company, rather than to myself, maybe that's just me but some companies keep cutting jobs, programs, and make other sacrifices such as no AC or Heating until a certain month or date, despite them still making millions of dollars. This is why Costco is such a good model, the CEO makes minimum for a CEO, and his company is not only continuing to expand and be successful, he's never had to cut corners in order to do it. He may have worked hard too yes, but he obviously remembers how to do it and continue to work hard in order to stay successful or become more, some companies forget that. Take Wal-Mart for example, they may take in people who are disabled for employment (among able bodied) but they pay minimum wage despite making billions. Every member of the Walton family is worth billions of $, do they think for one second to put some of that money into their company to make it better, like pay raises, programs, or better equipment and tech? Maybe, but in some stores I fail to see that, some stores still look like their in the 80's or 90's. This paragraph btw also goes for anon underneath.

The reason Walmart pays minimum wage while Costco pays roughly double that is because Walmart employs a far greater amount of people, on both a national scale and on a store-store basis. Walmart employs approximately 318 employees per store, whereas Costco employs approximately 239 employees per store. So the higher wages that Costco provides for their entry-level employees comes from the lower number of employees they have to pay. Walmart is spending a much greater amount of its revenue on its employees, but each individual employee is making less per hour because of how many employees there are.

Basically it comes down to the fact that Costco pays their employees better, but Walmart pays more employees. Walmart provides roughly 80 more people per store with a means to keep themselves fed. Additionally, "entry-level" employees at Costco are a lot higher up on the ladder than entry-level Walmart employees when it comes to the skill and training required for the job.

Personally I'd rather have more people working for me and making enough to eat than have less people working for me but making enough to eat well, assuming similar budgets for entry-level employees either way.

Got this info from here: www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-27/why-walmart-will-never-pay-like-costco.html

Furthermore, the CEO isn't the only one who is affected by the choice to increase wages. In public companies, the shareholders are also affected if the company decides to decrease its profits in order to increase its employees' wages. Because of this, even if the CEO wants to help out, the company's board of trustees usually won't let it because of the way it will affect the company's investors.

So what you're saying is that people should start a business for other people, and not to put money in their own pockets? Seeing as how every single business owner I have ever heard of started their company so they can make a living. Of course they may want to grow their company so they put money back into it and that helps others by giving them jobs. But the fact is they are still doing it to make money for themselves and not for others.
