I suppose yeah, the ending didn't really do it too much justice, but it gave a closure nevertheless. It is still one of the memorable animes I have ever watched, mainly because, despite of the revival effect, the story overall feels fairly realistic. The world is not really a pretty place and this show does a good job at portraying that fact, be it the bittersweet ending or the cruelty some humans are capable of.

I really liked the scene where Satoru arrives from the school in the first childhood revival and finds his mother all right even though he seen her dead not even a day ago from his perspective. It was oddly moving.

Overall this anime was full of feels. I have no idea why people call it overrated. It was a ride from start to finish, even if the ending felt a little rushed.

Well, i found the ending REALLY bad, because that was some jojo-battle-tendency kind of planning.

Appearently, in the manga, it went differently which prolly is another reason people got a bit mad at it.
I heard that the killer got into the killing part because he lured female classmates to his brothers to kill\rape them, which he got hard on watching.
It's also that girl he worked with that stops the paparazzi in the hospital, appearently the killer himself is less active in the manga, as Satoru only regains his memories when they go on a hospital trip, the killer tries to kill that cancer girl, but satoru notices and prevents it

and i agree, that scene where he sees his mother got me all messed up inside with feels~

It was totally NTR. Kanbari was clearly supposed to be the true route, but what we got looked like the normal fucking end. The MC fucking lost. Either way shit ending. MC gave up years of his fucking lifespan, he deserved better. Erased left such a fucking sour taste in my mouth I just try not to think about it.

And nigga time traveled Erased wasn't exactly realistic.

I liked the way it ended. It made the MC's struggle all the more purer. The main theme in this anime was self sacrifice and martyrdom, not romance. The important thing was that he managed to succeed in making a difference, and in a way he managed to save himself as well, despite the time he lost.

What would have thrown me off would be irrational characters

I liked that manga because it was a mystery, not a romance
