STEP 1
Play Undertale. This is crucial.
STEP 2
Make Undyne your idol. Also crucial.
STEP 3
PUMP THAT IRON

Nah but srsly, I'm sick and tired of that weak fat body I'm stuck in, I can barely lift anything so I figured it's high time time to make a change
My ugly af forward head posture got better, too! Still a bit bent, but nowhere near as bad as before. I actually have to duck a little bit now to look into the bathroom mirror!

Sure it's tough at first, but once you feel your entire body burning, your weight dropping, your biceps getting bigger (well they're pumped up from last workout, not actually much bigger yet.. see it as some sort of preview!), your chest hardening etc, it is great motivation to keep going!

Also try to find a used racer bike on ebay for leg training, they usually go out for pretty damn cheap

I got one and god damn, entire new experience compared to any other bike I rode before. At first I was exhausted after 10 minutes, it's getting better now!

Damn Ive only been working out twice a week recently...how do you even manage 3 so fast?? I rush and do everything in one day because I don't like alternating between like this and that
Takes me 2 hours min to do everything tho

Super simple! On school days and weekend!

I tend to go overboard tho

On sunday I've suffered from severe tiredness (pineapple said it's normal and actually a good sign) but I pulled through anyway. It was a mess of a workout however.. but hey, I'm about as determined as Undyne and tend to push things a bit too far, heh. Guess I just work with some lighter weights today and do a prolonged warm up. I'm not happy til I can do at least 2 proper pull ups in a row!

Y'see, that's exactly why I am making progress now and not after six months 4 years ago; proper form and more eating! My ego got the better of me in the gym so I lifted more than I should, never made progress. Now I have the gym for my own and it works all like a charm~

Ok i think i can help shed some light on your situation.

First and foremost, supplements help greatly, if not necessary to bodybuilding. In specific, BCAAs. Protein powder has it, I would suggest just buying protein powder, because all it is, is pretty much food. It isnt anything harmful or anything you can get cancer from, the worst thing would be getting fat if youre not lifting. Isolate protein powder also absorbs quickly in your intestines so your kidneys will be alright.
I personally have protein powder, creatine, and vitamins.

However, if you dont want to take any supplements at all, focus on eating fish, cottage cheese, egg whites, chicken, greek yogurt, and nuts.
Dont eat peanut butter unless its all natural, otherwise you are going to get fat fast because the oils in it are solidified and that shit is hell for your body to break down and not store it into fat.
Carbs are necessary for your body to cycle that protein throughout your body.

You increase weight until you cant do anymore reps. Depending what muscle your trying to target, lets say chest, you start off at the lowest dumbell, lets say 10lbs, do 10 of those inclined bench. Then switch to 30 lbs, 10 of those. 50lbs, 10 of those, 55lbs, 10 of those, and keep jumping by 5lbs until you cant do more.

Dont start with a lot and work your way down, youll most likely get a bad cramp in your muscle and your workout is ruined for the day. Also you have to do with heavier weights each time, more than your body is used to. That is the only way your muscles will grow. Each workout has to be intense.

It does not take as much time as you think. It honestly should take 3 months if you do everything right to where people will think youve been lifting for 3 years. It is very possible but you have to know what supplements to take, your food, and how to properly lift.

Wow okay, supps sound a lot like less of a hassle. Gotta inform myself about that as I weigh 105 or 110 kilos already. Plan isnt exactly to lose weight, plan is to "transform" what mass I have now.

Thats the mistake I did for six months, got disheartened and quit. Never really increased weight much, lacked proper form and just did.. Well, something that did jack all for me. Same weight, same reps. Now that I know better and get professional help starting tomorrow, it should go a whole lot better.

Also, I kinda recognize your nme from somewhere. Have we met before?

If arn't trying to gain crazy muscle mass or strength then you don't really need to worry about a proper diet. At Least not one where it's heavy on protein or low on carb ect. Obviously don't eat unhealthy.

As for gaining strength, diet comes in play there. You won't gain strength as fast as someone with a surplus of calories and protein. They will be going leaps and bounds past you.

I'd recommend sticking to the weights and just surfing through a few workout videos until you find someone you like who will get you more in depth in the fitness world.
#49283 - baglesbites (09/27/2016) [-]
Stick to a basic program that's intended for use by newbies and build a foundation. I like the idea of a slightly tweaked strong lifts 5x5 which is a good program by itself. But for added gains, throw in some dips, chin ups and 1 arm exercise for Bi's and tri's Don't go crazy with them, do it last and keep the volume around 3 sets of 8. Ab work is optional but I'd recommend planks and cable crunches.
#49284 - baglesbites (09/27/2016) [-]
Also, a solution to chin ups is to use a resistance band to help you from the bottom. This will take away just enough weight to gain an extra rep or two.

#49287 - enslavedyouth (09/27/2016) [-]
Gotta check that resistance band method, thanks

Got a few more questions, if youve got the patience for it?^^

Alright so. As of right now I can only use light weights, obviously. How and when do I increase weight? I certainly dont mean to lift as much as possible as soon as possible, I know that building a perfect body takes time, I just dont want to stall ever again.

Secondly, diet. Are there any plans I could look up, something I can do with a soon to be tight schedule? No fancy cooking or long preparations? What about cheat days?

Third and last question, leg day. Now, I do stuff like push ups not only to exercise but also for fun. I can easily push through any burning sensations while working my upper body, but leg day is the seventh cycle of hell. Cant do lunges with my left leg either for some reason. Any beginner exercises that wont make me feel like Im ripping myself a new one after five reps?
#49291 - baglesbites (09/27/2016) [-]
Add weight once you can comrplete the sets/ reps the program calls for with proper form. Take an hour once a week to cook a bulk meal or two. PRS.ut butter is also quick and tasty. The most important thing is to stay patient, this is a marathon we're trying to run.
