you want an example for "tiniest luxuries"?
we have so much food, that we have to throw it away and let it rot.
we don't even want it, let alone need it.
it's sinful.

you mow lawns and work at fast food restaurants for what?
like 8-10 dollars an hour?
there are little fucking kids working in coal mines for 50 cents a 12 hour day.
have they not earned as much as you have?
but you are partially right. the burden should not be on us little guys.
there are people who have amassed more wealth than they could spend in ten generations, if they tried.
we have way too much as a society, to the point where much of it simply goes to waste.
reform is needed if we truly want to create a world worth living for.
and you know what? i agree with you on this one. right now it is a pipe dream.
but dream i will.

Fuck you. you still havent given any examples of the "tiniest luxuries" us fat cats could all cut out so that the billions of starving orphans can eat a meal and postpone their death by a few hours.

if you dont like it then sell your computer, it's a luxury. you dont need internet, that's just gravy. all you need is food, clothing, shelter. all the rest of your money can go over to the orphans. lead by example.

we are living in over abundance, while most people live with less than they need.
if you just gave up the tiniest of luxury, you might be able to help someone who has nothing.
we have enough resources for every human on this planet. that is a fact.
donate, help in the tiniest of ways.
a house is not made from a single brick.
if we all would just do our part, the world would be a much better place for everyone.

i wasn't given my overabundance. i mow lawns and i work in fast food while attending community college. i havent bought new clothes in years, i only ever shop at thrift stores and im always donating when i outgrow things. anything i have i have earned. dont you dare assume shit about me.

and no, that's bullshit. giving up the tiniest luxury wouldn't even make up the cost of sending it over. and you're still not being specific. "luxury" is so vague, what do you want us to give up?

are they working harder than >>#96 the kid in that sweatshop?
i highly doubt it.
most people are born into really really bad circumstances, and it is really easy to look down and say "it's not that hard" from this ivory tower that is the first world.
people like you and me have it so fucking good just by circumstance. if you think that is fair, then i don't know what else to say to you.
User avatar
#168 - dorfdorfdorf (14 hours ago) [-]
i dont know what you want. do you want to cut everybody down to the same level? because that's what it sounds like. the first world is not the villain in this story. yes, some people are born better off than others. yes, some people are destined to slave away their entire life and die painfully and anonymously. there is literally not a single thing that we as a society can feasibly do about that for about a century. it would take that long for meaningful change to come about and billions would still be living in squalor. i just dont know what you're getting at.

No shame in that. lol It would not be uncommon for us to walk with handfuls of blizzards and ice cream cones, particularly failed dip chocolate cones. The owner had increasingly become less caring about stuff like that and everybody took advantage of it. I heard he's got even worse since I left too. Can pretty much do anything without getting fired for it. A lot of people messing up on purpose, not doing their job, etc and he won't do anything about it.

We would have killed for half off at DQ. We got 10% off, although messups were common and you could take as many as you wanted for free.

I know what you mean. I don't eat there much just cause the price isn't great for the amount of food you get, but there's no denying that it is higher quality.

It could always be worse I suppose. I figure it's probably better than a lot of the other fast food options you could work for. I was a manager for a Dairy Queen inside a mall for six years. It was hell.

It's much better, the franchising is so exclusive that only the best become owners, thus their standards are really high for the food, vendors, employees. It's a really good place to work, at least as a starting point
