The alternate ending of I Am Legend was better than the actual one.

It reveals that the vampires are becoming intelligent, to the point of developing sympathy/empathy for their own kind; it also explains the title: the main character has become the monster of their legends.

It sees you, or hears you, or smells you, and it walks after you. And when you disappear over the horizon... it won't think about that. It won't think to stop walking either. It will keep walking, an eternal engine of pursuit, until something changes that. One zombie can be deterred with jingling keys.

But a horde only knows one thing; to go.

And it all goes back to the reason for human dominance on this planet. One of the biggest things that led to us taking over this world and becoming such great hunters was our method of pursuit predation, where we would literally just follow animals over great distances so they would exhaust themselves and we would kill them. Zombies do the exact same thing to us, only they don't need to stop.

The dead do not know mercy. They do not know exhaustion. They do not know pain. All the dead know is hunger and rage.

Honestly, the Dawn of the Dead remake is the only thing that pulled the running zombies off. It's always like "Fuck fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck."

Then there's this scene. First time I watched this I remember yelling out loud "HIDE YOU STUPID BITCH!"

28 Weeks Later escape scene I know technically they aren't zombies in 28 days/ weeks but I think they do a really good job with the tension and the action.
