1.place them in lateral vascular neck restraint (ill call it whatever i want because this isn't a sherdog forum and im not going to bow to internet gladiators) using just your arms
2. once your arms are around the neck use your legs to lean up on the seat
3.shift upper bodyweight on its back and press down, kicking legs up to its side, then maneuver to its back.

what you're describing as being impossible is just a fairly standard transition.

OK, I do Brazilian jiu jitsu, I have for 5 years.

1. Unless the cheetah is retarded, it will come at you straight on. This means you must twist your body and safely maneuver it's head away from you and then wrap your arms around its neck. Good luck.

2. Then your going to just press your upper body onto it, right? Fighting a thrashing wild animal, you just press up onto the seat and lay on it. Cool, OK. This has you seated with your legs now in front of you, trying to hold a wild animal with just your arms. Great.

3. Finally, you magically kick your legs back, up and onto the cheetah. Understood. I get it now, you have no idea how grappling works. Or the laws of physics. That or you are a bad troll.

From a seated position? You are going to "hop" onto a cheetah's back from a seated position? It's not physically possible. Your only option is a guillotine unless it turns to run away, at which point coming it is a moot point. Seriously, think before you speak.

If you attempt a guillotine choke, you are basically pulling it's teeth tower your stomach/side/VITAL-FUCKING-ORGANS! Also, the claws will year your shit up. It's like your car but 15X larger with larger sharp claws that will rake at you viciously, especially at the stomach area because that's where it will be pushing off from.

I got a guy to give the old Fallout 2 a chance once. After leaving Arroyo, his first encounter was the Pariah. He just played on but quit after a while "because the combat mechanics was shit". He hadn't old me about the dog by then, so I asked what was wrong, and he said that every third time he attacked, he would drop his gun or something. The poor fucker played for several hours with 1 in luck.
User avatar #41 - xedeid (07/06/2015) [-]
I bet he put points in CHA lol
User avatar #44 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
... I actually did that on my first playthrough. Honestly, I think that it was kinda shitty that INT made a larger impact on conversations than CHA. I know it's more realistic in a way, but it just makes the CHA stat useless. Even PER makes a bigger difference on conversations than CHA.

I still like a 9 CHA 9 INT character though for roleplaying purposes.

And no, he actually went for big guns to start with as a tag skill and put all his points into that, making the start even harder for him.

how to make FO1 really easy
1: raise gambling to 75
2: go to the casino in junktown
3: play roulette
4: weigh down the 4 and 1 keys
5: entertain yourself some other way for a couple of hours
6: ???
7: literal profit
User avatar #18 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
Doing that in 2 makes sense considering how annoying getting money is until you get to San Franciso and NCR.
But in 1 you're swimming in loot, your companions have no carry limit and shops restock money as soon as you talk to them again.
User avatar #45 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
I can see how it is technically that way, but it was actually opposite for me. After getting the car in FO2, you could just travel from San Fran to Vault City, and each trip would net you at least 3000-4000 caps in easy bandit encounters, and the shops would have restocked by then with both ammo and caps. I had a much harder time making ammo go around in FO1 late game.
User avatar #55 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
I guess I got lucky in my first run through of 1.
I got the special BB gun encounter and that thing was retardedly strong for a BB Gun, so cheap huge quantities of ammo that reloaded in amounts of 100. It weighed practically nothing and I could accurately shoot it multiple times per round.
I destroyed the Master with a BB gun... and Ian's noble sacrifice.
User avatar #56 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
I never found it in FO1, but I did in FO2 (which is relatively easy), although only after buying Gauss guns for every companion. It's such a cool gun, but it becomes useless late game, which was when I got it

I was too afraid to lose any companions, because I hoped their survival would be mentioned in the post-win slideshow or what you would call it. I told them all to wait in an abandoned shack before facing the Master.

and companions were a fucking cancer anyway. I think Ian has killed me more times than he has killed enemies.

Btw, you know how it's canon lore that Dogmeat dies by charging into a force field, right? Did you know that it's actually a reference to a guy, who told Dogmeat to wait behind a force field, because he was afraid of it dying? Kind of a cool throw-out to the fans IMO. Imagine having altered the real canon lore with your playthrough?
User avatar #57 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
Those forcefields were a fucking nightmare. I had to lock my companions in rooms and deal with the muties solo just so Dogmeat wouldn't rush in and die.
Then I finally figured out how to use Stimpacks on him and it wasn't such a huge deal anymore.
User avatar #58 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
Man, I know what you mean. I had low repair skill, but somehow my game bugged, and I couldn't use explosives on them either.

That being said though, I completed every single thing in the game that I could with my set of skills, before preceding that far into the main plot, so the mutants themselves were no problem for my Turbo Plasma Rifle one shots, and with bonus rate of fire, taking down 2-3 guys per turn made it ridiculously easy... except for the damned missile launchers. Having enemies that could take you down in one turn without even getting a critical, was really fucking annoying.

Now I feel like doing a Full Agility + Fast Shot + Bonus Rate of Fire play through... 5 plasma shots per round is just too fucking OP
User avatar #59 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
Fast shot and not being able to aim is really annoying though.
Maybe if you had 10 Luck and Many Crits just to increase the instant kill chance.
But yeah I had the same problem with the Lieutenant fight and one of the guards with a minigun.
That son of a bitch kept critting me for max crit armour bypass 200 or so damage.
User avatar #60 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
Yeah, Fast Shot is shite... until you get the Turbo Plasma Rifle. People go down in 1 shot often anyway by then, and you go from 3 shots to 5 shots per round, so I think it's fair to say that it will definitely pay off late game. If you use anything but the Turbo Plasma Rifle, then get out of my face, u filthy casual.

I was so lucky with that Lieutenant. You know how there's a corridor right before getting to him? I went down there to prepare for battle, because some bug caused some mutants in a room across the whole map to spot me and start engaging. While I was preparing in cover at the elevator, the fucking lieutenant started moving too, and I was ready to load, since I had already gotten rekt by him once that playthrough. I thought "what the hell, last stand here I come" and just waited for them all the be in the corridor. Then I walked out from my cover, and got ready to get my ass kicked... the first thing that happened in the enemy turn was that the mutant farthest away from us decided to burst fire his minigun at me... which backfired as fuck. He got a crit on the lieutenant which was the target closest to him, and killed 3 of his own, including the lieutenant. Picking the last few muties off was easy after that.
User avatar #61 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
I just went to the corner just before Lieutenant's room and lured them to that.
Then when they all grouped up I charged and began killing them.
Then the dumbass with the rocket missed me and started hurting the muties/worshiper around me.
That was a cool fight whenever the guy with the minigun didn't ultra crit me.
User avatar #62 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
I can't decide if I liked the burst-mechanic or not. It was a fun situational move that was devastating, but when anyone else but you used it, it was a game breaking move. Most of the time, it would backfire. There was apparantly no coding done to make the characters consider if it was a smart idea to use the burst, when there's filled with allies in front of him
User avatar #63 - Lainge (07/06/2015) [-]
I never really had too many situations where it was actually helpful.
Whenever they would actually group up and I'd go for the burst it would only hit 1 or do really low damage.
I just found killing them in one hit with crits to the eyes was a safer bet.
User avatar #64 - minorian (07/06/2015) [-]
True, it was kinda like bursts were only working on 25% when you used them yourself... that is, unless you went Big Guns and got a Vindicator, LOL. I think there's a video on Youtube of someone killing the master with 1 burst.

Please stop supporting animal cruelty.

The dairy industry is incredibly cruel. It steals the mother cows babies, kills them and then eventually kills the mother for meat.

The egg industry kills all males at birth.

So you are actively promoting animal cruelty.

Secondly, Dairy and eggs are incredibly unhealthy and cause cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Being a vegetarian is completely stupid.

If you care about animals and your health, go vegan.

If you dont, being vegetarian is pointless because is it less healthy and more harmful than eating meat.
#5 to #4 - dontknowme (08/24/2014) [-]
No, it's really not. Granted, being a vegan is healthier, but the way that you and 99% of others go about trying tell people that is the wrong way to do it. Throwing animal cruelty in their faces won't convince won't convince many people. They don't care. They're only going to get more pissed at you.

Vegetarians want it to continue.
