It's HEAVILY implied that it is Lord Gwyn's first born. Solaire was just an average guy, and most people thought he was the first born until DS3.

If you intend on doing a strong strength build you don't need to worry to much about a lot of other stats. I would for the moment put it around 12 and then focus on your strength, health, and stamina. If you haven't already get Havel's Ring to help with some of your inevitable weight issues.
After Crystal Sage keep an eye out for the Executioners greatsword. It's in the area beyond that boss and is a pretty solid weapon all round.
The problem you are going to have is that the Deep Battle Axe has a massive damage fall in the long run, it's only good for early game and when you don't have a lot invested in stats yet. Virtually any other weapon will be better once scaling factors in. I'd say use Brigand's Axe and infuse it with a Heavy Gem. You'll get a massive boost to it's scaling and it's light and fast it's weapon art is handy in a pinch too.

DS3 is your best bet, if your friends move on to another game it's still a long, fun, challenging game with several play styles.

If you only have money for one game i'd say get DaS3 or Overbotch if you have friends to play with because you're gonna get a lot more potential playtime out of those than Doom
If you wanna get multiple get DaS3 and Doom

The higher your trainer level the higher CP cap your pokemon can go. Also their powerlevel after evolving seems to be in direct correlation to the white bar behind the pokemon and below the CP. It seems that when you evolve your poke, the bar stays in the same spot. While CP raises, depending on if it is a final evolution (which is why the eevees get such a mad spike in CP)

Wait until you get to level 20 or something. There is a higher likelihood that you will catch a higher level CP kabuto prior to that. By then the levels are more spread apart and you can more readily get way more stardust to power him up. Just save him for the cool factor, you may get a 500 cp kabuto by then. ya know?

It's debated online as to whether or not raising their CP has any affect, I suggest you do your own reading on it and make your judgement, personally I believe in raising it as high as possible before evolution
