>Actually, sounds like you're the one misunderstanding things -- grumpygrandpa has it pretty much right. SBR is in the reset universe. The thing is, Emporio was dumped into the reset universe at approximately the equivalent time, meeting the reset universe's jolyne and annasui, but events prior to that still occurred -- namely, SBR, and the current arc, both take place in that reset universe. This was stated by Araki, explicitly. Johnny is the reset-universe Jonathan, and new Josuke is the counterpart to Josuke, covering similar roles to Jotaro and also enveloping counterpart Kira. Because of Emporio's influence, counterparts of the ones he knew are almost identical, but the same can't be said for others. The only thing that actually plays out exactly the same is Part 2, with a nearly identical Joseph Joestar fighting an identical Kars. Again, explicitly confirmed/endorsed by Araki.

Hmm, well thanks for clearing that up. Speaking of Diego... I always thought the fight against The World Diego was just awkwardly tacked in after the climax. I mean it was good, but it didn't have any place after the fight against ultra hyped final boss.

Diego 2: Electric Boogaloo is more or less Araki's big send-off for Dio, which is why I think he did it. You can't really make any fan theories of a resurrected Diego if quantum mechanics destroys all traces of him.

Hmm, is that ever mentioned somewhere? I always thought that, even if they didn't say anything, since a new universe was started it was the post-Made in Heaven one.

Yeah, people make that same mistake a lot, though there's a lot of discrepancies. Ending of part 6, everything is essentially the same as it'd be normally.

Therefore, Jonathan and Dio would still be the same people, or at least extremely similar, unlike Johnny and Diego, Diego not even being the main villain for SBR.

T-That's what I said. Cuz he is. The SBR universe was the one created after Pucci used Made in Heaven. SBR takes place at the same time as PB.

Even up to the point that Johnny's grandson was Joseph, who married Suzie Q and had a daughter named Holly Joestar.

No, no, no. My Dude. You've Got 1-6's universe, then 7-8. They're not the same universe. They share similarities, but it is not the same universe that Pucci had created via Made In Heaven.

OP mentioned that, when usin Pucci's power, the gorilla from the new universe would be similar in personality and actions to the old Harambe. SBR is the rebooted PB universe after Made in Heaven. Ergo, my comment.

The way you worded it makes it sound like you thought Johnny is the resetted universe counterpart of Jonathan, sorry bout that lmao.
