USA vs JAPAN
It's also based on the state too, in Wyoming you can expect the road to take a couple weeks to be fixed. in Montana once it started to get fixed, it will remain in that state of orange traffic cones for all of eternity.
I live in Northern Illinois, so they literally tear all the main roads apart and leave them a disaster for months, sometimes even over a year.
My dad did some construction contracting work in japan for a very wealthy family. They told him it was cheaper to higher American and Canadian contractors, fly them over and give them room and board then it was to use Japanese contractors. They also said the work was completed much quicker. So... not really sure how accurate or how much information is missing from pictures like this.
i read that a cartoon child is the insentive
Def. Worked for scumbag, ex-con contractor. He'd toss city officials a bit of $$, get no-bid contracts for side-walk repairs & such. He'd have the crew just set up signage & cones, then sit in the truck 2/3 of each shift, bored to death, but getting paid well; he milked the sh*t out of the contracts.
That's so fucking broken and scummy
what an asshole-- he should probably fuckin' hang himself. The collective time he wasted everyone is probably more than double the time he spent living his life, so he should just end it before he wastes anymore.
I worked for my father in his tree service business for nearly 15 years. At first I thought he was just being a lazy fucker in his truck a majority of the time. In reality he was making phone calls constantly trying to set up our next few jobs so we always had work. And when he couldn't line up any jobs for us, instead of giving us days off unpaid, he would find work for us to do around his home like raking and picking up dog shit.
At first I hated that I would have to clean up dog shit. It didn't take me long to understand that I was getting paid to work, no matter what the work was. He could have paid someone 1/3rd of what I was making to clean up dog shit, but the man made sure he could keep me busy.
There was maybe only 2 times in the 15 years, during the winter, that he had no work for me to do, and he actually said for me to take the day off.
Completely unrelated, but I felt the need to share.
I work in electrical construction for my half brother's dad and he does the same thing. I appreciate the hell out of it because it means I never go without a fairly full check
That's the problem with government contracting
I heard it was something along the lines of budgets. If you don't use all the budget, they give you less for the next project, so people find a way to force using 100% of the budget to ensure they get the same amount next time, even if it means being asaid slow as fucking possible. Was any of that correct?
Typically, no. How the contracts work (or how they
work) is the bid is for who can do it the cheapest. So, the contractors present a cost analysis to complete the job and if theirs is cheaper than their competitor while still maintaining a level of quality, they should reasonably receive the contract. Unfortunately, it's a lot more political these days, so the system no longer works as it is supposed to.
Is that mr.Fluffels?
Thats DON Fluffels to you
I used both these images recently.
New episode would honestly excite me more than finding decent version of Ordinal Scale.
