Yeah, ok, I embarrassed myself on the sporting part. See my comment below.
I accept that self-defence is important. But... if you ban guns then even the criminals won't have them. I promise. Countries like that do exist. If you do a thorough job it gets so that only a small section of the criminal population have them. Too small to pose a threat.
Plus, this isn't Rambo. If you pull a gun on someone attacking you, you're far more likely to die yourself than if you were unarmed.

Not trying to post on every comment you make but an example is with drugs. They are still illegal yet are all over the country. You may not notice it in areas because no one is trying to kill people out in the public with bags of marijuana or cocaine. The United States tried prohibition and it's result; there was more alcohol ever.

Like I said in previous comment, you only think that they are almost non-existent in those places because it doesn't get waved around. If guns become illegal they can be compared with drugs and are not totally different, they are on the same level when you talk about controlling substances. In places where guns are illegal don't you think there might be places manufacturing them just as drugs are made? Of course you're not going to see a big ass building labeled "Gun Factory" on it because they are guns. Saying drugs are physically addictive is a "useless" point.

I'm sorry, but an AR-15 is not an assault rifle. I try not to reply to these kinds of comments, but I can't help it sometimes. You seem like an intelligent individual. For future reference, an assault rifle is designed for infantry use. The AR-15 is designed for civilian use. It has no selector switch, and only fires in semi auto. Also, just about every gun in the military has had a civilian counterpart for as far back as there has been a marked difference between the designs of military and non-military rifles.
Rant over, thanks for listening.
