their job is to find any reason they could feasibly give you a ticket/steal your property. because tickets/ceased possessions = money for the city. cops don't go up to civilians thinking "I'm gonna make sure this guy isn't up to no good." they go up thinking "I'm gonna see how much money I squeeze outta this guy and get away with it."

how is he an asshole about it? he has a sign that states his rights and his actions and informs he police how to handle giving him a ticket if he gets one . i dont see him being an asshole in fact just by lowering his window to initiate verbal communication is already a violation of his rights

Them "just doing their jobs" is no reason to forgo keeping yourself protected to the utmost that you can, if you really want to go through the effort

It's less "Being an asshole" and more Not rolling over just 'cause the cop is a normal guy

Yea, keep yourself protected when you need it, know your rights when they matter, don't go making someones day shittier just cause though. if you didn't do shit, talk to the guy and be on your way twenty seconds later.

Well y'know
That's like saying "Don't be a surly asshole"

Sound advice but not exactly something you can enforce, or even get mad at someone over
People are how they choose to be, can't persecute someone for that

Its not being an asshole to not allow someone infringe on your rights. Police have way too much power to the uninformed and the only way to protect yourself from possible misuse is to know it yourself.

Its like rape (bear with me, the analogy does make sense). Rapists will still rape despite trying to force them to stop through activism. You cant fix the problem by shouting at it. Not all men are rapists, just like not all cops abuse their power. The only way you can prevent it is taking measures yourself to avoid it.

However, unlike rapists, blind trust in people with power is just as stupid as blind hate. (i think its pretty obvious theres no such thing as blind hate towards rapists.)

you a fucking idiot like super dumbass you should be ashamed they are not "infringing upon mu hfreedums with their laws" like you so eloquently stated the cop trying to stop his is breaking the law in fact "muh laws" state that i dont have to consent to illegal searches which is what a dui checkpoint is if i want to just leave my window up and slowly roll by its my legal right to do so any unless the cop is officially detaining me with reasonable cause that clearly visibly before he stopped me ill have his ass in court and to further statet his point i could have 4 pounds of cocaine in my car and if the cop illegal stops and searches me that 4 pounds of cocaine is now no longer admissible as evidence in court

A DUI checkpoint is not illegal. The supreme court ruled as such in 1990. Nor is a dui checkpoint a search, they do not search the vehicle unless you give them probable cause (such as sounding/acting drunk or having a bottle in plain view).

It is not your legal right to just roll through a DUI checkpoint. If you think it should be, go start a petition to change the law. As it stands, DUI checkpoints are completely legal.

Fuckin' idiot.
