Actually, Mexicans are North Americans Beileve me... I checked Wikipedia
User avatar #24 - deansg (09/25/2014) [-]
ok fair enough, but they're probably closer genetically to central Americans no? I mean most of the U.S.A is either of European origin, African origin, and even the Natives didn't mix with the hispanics there that much
User avatar #25 - thumballigator (09/25/2014) [-]
Well yeah, Mexicans and most of the other countries where invaded by Spain (with the exception of Argentina, Brazil and other south america countries) so probably that's what we have in common. And yeah... natives really never trusted Spain and they saw mixing as something wrong.

There's a word in the English language that sums up the entirety of the situation, though before that, I'd like to say this; in whose right mind does one's partner "cheating" incite regret, but no anger at all, from the betrayal? The human race is a petty and vindictive species, this is a fact; trying to better them in this area is futile, in that humans learn from their mistakes, and make sure to strike true on the next go-round.

But, to bring it back, that word is "vengeance." Before grief, before sorrow, before pity for any involved in the situation, the one that was slighted is bound to feel anger.

Just breaking up with her does nothing to (quote unquote) "teach a lesson" in that she's already getting what she obviously was seeking elsewhere. If it ends up scarring her as a consequence, to some it would be misfortune, but to others it would serve as a deterrent; what had she done to deserve anything of this level? Perhaps she would not be so promiscuous as to tempt jealousy again.

But I don't know anything about that, thus, leave it not my place to say.

Saying that as if abandonment issues are any less of a problem and that cheating doesn't add to that paranoia...

At the end of the day, if it solves the problem, it solves the problem, no? Though the story never said what supposedly happens between them after the fact...
User avatar #403 - deansg (09/09/2014) [-]
Breaking up with her would also solve the problem for the guy that was cheated on... Also, if someone was really honestly hurt I don't think he would've acted this way. This looks a lot more motivated by plain anger rather than true grief

The M4 is 80% M16. US army combat units don't really use M16's though, maybe a few rear-echelon people still get them issued, or National Guard units.

Eventually all eyes fall on the guilty looking new guy with that "fix it moron," look.

Guy who fucked up: *nervous laughter* "Haaaaa, goooot you...You um, you totally should have seen the look on your face....

Completely agree with you but, imagine a situation where two people who are arranged to marry fall in love. In this case the arranged marriage is OK, it's only when either or both of the individuals are forced/bribed/coerced into it that it is bad.

An arranged marriage can be as simple as 'Hey you guys are engaged for now, you can break it off at any point for any reason if you want, you are free to do what you want. This person is a good person who will love you as much as we do and give you a nice life' sort of thing.

When a bad example could marry this guy if you don't your cousin and brother will rape and kill you, which is basically what has happened in the past and probably still goes on today.
User avatar #90 - deansg (08/17/2014) [-]
Of course arranged marriage CAN work out, but that doesn't make it ok. A slave master could've released his slave after a couple of years, and also treat his slave well while he was his slave. That still doesn't make slavery ok. The same goes for here - as a principal, forced arranged marriage should be forbidden
User avatar #84 - gharshi (08/17/2014) [-]
I'm not denying that a certain act of a culture or tradition should always be accepted. in this case, arranged marriage is not the evil, disgusting thing westerners make it seem to be because only the bad cases make it to the international news. you think every woman in india is crying for help and can't escape her abusive husband who beats her every day? the majority of the population in places where arranged marriage is practiced turn out just fine, but you don't ever get to hear about how happy a couple in india have it after having an arranged marrige, because it's not dramatic, but a poor 10 year old kid who is forced to marry an old fat terrorist in chains is guaranteed to make it to the news, making us think this is common practice in the middle east
User avatar #89 - deansg (08/17/2014) [-]
Arranged marriage is evil as a matter of principal. It is a violation of a basic human right. It can work out at times, but it is still an evil on it's own.
User avatar #95 - gharshi (08/17/2014) [-]
