if you think that something should be legal, it's a non-argument to say that it should be legal because it is legal
actually yes it is.
Alabama, "i dont want niggers to vote"
ok let me check the Constitution, nope can't do that bud, 13 14th amendment. its legal for them to vote.
and those laws are justified because people of all races should be treated as equals, and thus their right to vote shouldn't be affected
it's about whether something
by far one of the most reasoned arguments I've heard on this site.
That being said, this entire comment section is, as always, baboons circlejerking
Technically, no one has any 'right'. The concept of legal and illegal only exist as a means to protect societies. The only basic 'law' is having the power to get what you want and being able to protect what you get. Societies are just another form of being able to get and protect what you want.
Because in America the constitution is king. If it's in the constitution it can't be changed no matter how much other people want it.
I mean, it
be changed, constitutional amendment is a thing. It's just difficult and infrequent, for obvious reasons.
My question is as to why the right to bear arms should be in the constitution, i.e.: why it should be a protected right. Saying that it's in the constitution so it's good is having someone else make your mind up for you without thinking about it.
It's not really a pro-/anti-gun thing, just about people questioning what they think.
You seem to have missed the point of it, it's to help keep the populace secured enough to change the government. Hunting, collecting, and self defense weren't really the things in mind when it was written, they didn't want to ever have a repeat of the fight for independence from an out of control government.
Yeah, I understand that
It's more about people using its inclusion in the constitution to justify its existence, when people should be justifying its inclusion in the constitution.
Idk why you're getting thumbed down. Typical retards on FJ. I feel like your argument is very simple:
Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's good.
I was not being literal in it not being changable. It's just that Americans love their constitution a lot and don't want to change it.
"Because it is my god given right, yada yada".
no you fuck tard it has to be change by amendments and you have to get 3/4ths of all the states to change that and mainly only 4 fucking states what gun control.
