They were still having parades and national events about the old movies before they even announced the new one. So no, star wars hasn't just leaped in popularity because of one movie. If anything, the only reason people have told me they wanted to see the new one is because of the REALLY old ones, so for some, hell maybe even alot of people the only reason to see the upcoming star wars movie is nostalgia.

Heres disney's 2012 star wars parade for reference. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1tqYQBXh5k

Parade in japan www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-Z7drrpNdU

And many more. If anything the new movie might BREAK popularity if it doesn't meet expectations. But thats the only thing it could really do.

Will you say that there is no massive leap in popularity again? And if you track back "I meant that it was even more popular x years ago", fuck you even harder, the topic was sudden influx of interest in the subject. 10 year high is the fucking definition of "something suddenly being very fucking important again".

You are insane. Of course there is, it's the most natural thing in the world. I can't believe I have to argue that. I give up.

There is a massive leap in popularity any time one of the movies comes out. This is true whenever a new installment comes out for a popular series of games/movies/books. This is stating the obvious, and I don't see why this is so hard to understand.

I said it's always been huge. It's seems a lot bigger now because the last time a SW movie came out, things like social media, youtube and the internet in general were much smaller and newer but it's always been an enormous deal.

I ask you again, is there no massive leap in popularity recently? I am more than aware of the cultural impact the original series had, but the time and the new series significantly lowered the importance of the series in recent years. It was still huge, no doubt, but not that huge. It's completely normal for someone to notice that sw is suddenly so important again.

My favorite Dante is from DMC 4. I'll agree that the styles are the same, but for me it's a matter of degree. There was a video online pointing out why new Dante is a bad character, and he made an excellent point about the direction they could have taken him. Dante could have been quiet and brooding, which would have been a lot more interesting than turning the cocky edge up to 12.
