If I wanted to, I could kill and eat any living thing on this planet with minimal effort, that's why humans are better than any other animal.
User avatar #33 - dancingdoggy (22 hours ago) [-]
True. That's not one of the arguments posted above. Also, you'd likely have to kill the animal from a distance, with a distance weapon.
Not saying that's bad. I'm not saying we're inefficient. Weapons are an extension of the human race, and that's OK.
But like I said earlier - we may be the smartest, the best, right now... but people need to get over themselves and stop thinking they're the best ever.

We've seen less than 10% of the oceans, but we've been to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, so really there aren't many areas of the ocean we can't explore.

The moon is hundreds of thousands of miles farther than any creature that we know of has ever and could ever reach, and is not the limit of what we can do.

By strong I mean in terms of its peak potential in the areas of cognition, logic, resourcefulness, all that kind of stuff, which far surpasses any creature living on earth. If you mean the literal durability, the strength in specific areas which benefit certain organisms more than us and thus would be used more, or the voltage that goes through neurons, that's a bit different.

I still consider that an aspect of adaptability. Tool use is very seldom seen in the animal kingdom (because of the combination of opposable thumbs and brain function), but it is a function we can perform that allows us to survive and reproduce.

It's not necessarily useful, but no one creature truly can have so much influence on Earth that it could wipe everything out.

I didn't even mention that we were able to fly with our inventions either. The whole point is, human beings, as stupid as we can be in certain areas, are an extraordinary species and that we should be happy (for the most part) with what we have and what we can do.

That we know of. you are forgetting that. That we know of. Aliens on a distant planet probably have devices that can create food and teleport for all we know. We may be the be best on earth for now, but evolution is still happening. At one point in time, neantherdals were the pinnacle of human efficiency; until we came along.

And we can't dwell to the bottom of the ocean. please do your research before you spout BS. we'd dwell deeper if we could. but the deeper you go, the more pressure accumulates. and we don't have any device atm that can sustain that amount, restore data, and return that data.
User avatar #117 - iridium (8 hours ago) [-]
Explore. As in visit and observe. Please read exactly what I said before completely misconstruing it and calling it BS. Of course we can't "live" underwater for very long (yet).

And I wasn't talking about aliens. For all we know there are no species in the universe nearly as advanced as us. That's why I said, "that we know of", simply because there's no way to know either for sure yet. For now, that's really all that matters, "that we know of". I never said we should "stop evolving", either.
