That only works with ADHD though, not with ADD. I had a friend who was diagnosed with ADHD and still is to this day who whenever it came time to take his pills if he missed it he would start acting up, one day he told me he just acted up because he could. If he acted that way when he wasn't diagnosed he'd just get his ass whooped and start acting right, so it was his way to act up without getting in trouble.

I could easily be diagnosed with plenty of things but I don't have them.
User avatar #20 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
Like I said, adhd, I don't really know as much about add seeing as you can only have one or the other. But your friend you had seems like just an idiot that helped ruin the idea that mental illnesses are real.
User avatar #21 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
As he progressed through life he actually has it and becomes a handful and apologizes after throwing his fits and shit even at 19 but I think him taking it is WHAT messed him up.
My friends little brother has it but if I stand behind him with a belt and permission to whoop his ass he suddenly doesn't have it even though he is one of those people who "truly" has it. I believe ADD and ADHD can be corrected without medication.

Shoot I can be in the middle of saying something and just trail off to a completely different subject and forget entirely what I was talking about or be distracted by something, start telling a different story, etc. That is like the definition of ADD, even doing things I like I get distracted. But I don't have it, I just need to get my ass to pay attention.
User avatar #23 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
ADD and ADHD don't involve having fits though from what I remember. . . and I actually have adhd, medically found and medically fixed. It's just that I had a great amount of energy, solved by taking gymnastics classes and from the medication, and I could pay attention at all in school until I took ritalin and concerta.

Also, trailing off isn't the definition, it's like saying mood swings is the definition of bipolar disorder, I guess pms is just bipolar disorder then.
User avatar #24 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
I'm not saying the trailing off is, I just can not pay attention to things. Even now typing this I look at things around my room but can vaguely remember what we are discussing and can type a response.
User avatar #25 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
If you are still able to work well in society without some form of outside help, be drugs or something else, then I don't believe you have the issue, however, if you can't function in society, then you have some sort of disorder, which is why I was tested.
User avatar #27 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
I can't function in school at all. Which is why I dropped out.
Trust me I have all the symptoms of someone who has ADD but I don't have it still.
User avatar #28 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
How do you not have it but have it?
User avatar #30 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
Because I don't believe in it. Just because you fit the symptoms of something doesn't mean you have it. Some people fit the description of pokemon but it doesn't make them pokemon.

I can ace all my tests without studying usually and can do work if I feel like it easily. It doesn't effect my daily life and helps make up who I am.
User avatar #31 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
I bet you don't believe anyone has anything then from the sounds of it. Split Personalities, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, ADD, ADHD, ect.

Do people not have allergies? A cold? A fever? MS? The flu?

And the pokemon thing is a little different, for one, most mention pokemon in the description, second, pokemon don't exist at all.
User avatar #32 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
Not at all. I know people with schizophrenia and MPD who truly wish they didn't have it and keep it a secret.

ADD is treatable though, if I beat someone with a belt every single day they go to school if they don't pay attention, eventually they will pay attention. That doesn't happen with MPD and schizo, you can't change those but you can't change whether or not someone pays attention.

Of course that is not a humane way to treat it though. But someone with a broken leg wouldn't be able to start walking fine magically if I tried to force them to, but you CAN force someone to pay attention.
User avatar #34 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
You saying all that makes me want to hit you because nothing but drugs worked for me. I couldn't force myself to pay attention, it just didn't happen. I couldn't force myself to calm down, IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT! Just because you could scare it out of your brother doesn't mean he had it then, and just because you force yourself to pay attention, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
User avatar #36 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
Oh I see you're a girl, well if you hit me you better be careful to not break you flimsy female wrists.
This is probably why you say you have it, bitches always want something to complain about.
User avatar #41 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
I don't complain about it, nor do I normally tell people about it. It hasn't effected me since high school. And why does me being female even change that? I never even mentioned it.

And now you're just being rude. Break my flimsy wrists? If it means I get to hit you and you're made of rock, fine I will. This is why you guy don't get dates. You whine about forever alone and then as soon as you figure out you're talking to a girl, you turn around and stop sounding logical and turn to insults.

And I have it because I was tested for it. If you noticed earlier, I said I hated when people say they have when they don't.
User avatar #45 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]

User avatar #37 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
Thanks for calling me utterly retarded. Good to know my medical condition doesn't exist for you.

Oh gosh darn it, you're right. Let me just pull back here, I guess I was just stupid all my life and should be beaten for not paying attention instead of going through school perfectly fine with medication. I never had a darned thing and ritalin did nothing for me. Plus, all hose people who say they have it and had it medically tested? Yeah, they're just liars who just don't pay attention and could probably function fine in life without medication.

Though you must know everything, right? I mean, you have one symptom of it and you can still function, means it doesn't exist, right?

Just having something doesn't make you an expert on the subject. I guarantee if you go to a movie you've been wanting to see you'll have no issue paying attention to it. But I'm sure you trying to prove your point here will just say "Actually no I couldn't herpaderp"
User avatar #42 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
Actually, I can pay attention to things now, after years of medication. I don't take it now. I'm just saying, the medication fixed something. And since I don't need to take it now, I really don't have ADHD anymore but at some point I did.
User avatar #48 - sheepysquirrel (02/06/2013) [-]
Prolonged use of it is more prone to make your symptoms worse not better, sounds like you grew up and stopped acting like you had something you didn't to me.
Someone with schizophrenia or MPD will always have it even with medication, it doesn't go away, so obviously ADD/ADHD are much different.

User avatar #15 - daimondemon (02/06/2013) [-]
My god, that's horrid. Did you tell him that they're frickin retarded or something?

But you wanna know how to really test if the person has ADHD? Give them ritalin, if they actually calm down and pay attention, they have adhd, if you start to get hyper, they do not have adhd. A good method, I had ritalin when I was. . . in the first grade I believe because I was about to fail it because I wouldn't pay attention, THAT is adhd.

Well, I have ADHD, and a lot of people don't think of it as a real disease and that the kid just needs to calm down. But then theres the fact that depression and other such insanities actually run through my dad's family.

My sis hears voices, my brothers sane (now), and one of my aunts succeeded in suicide. Plus, I have become friends with people who also have some mental issues like that or did so in the past.

Always good to find someone else who likes the show. There is very few songs that I like the glee version strictly better in, usually I like both in fact.

I watched several episodes. I didn't like the acting, they all gave off this "I'm an actor in a TV show" vibe, if that makes any sense. And then I found out that they stole Jonathon Coulton's shit, which probably makes them the devil.

I knew nothing of the stealing and don't support that part of it and yeah, a lot of time they do over act but after watching it you either get used to it or they do get better. Either way I like the show, they do actually sing and dance well and I think the only reason people really want to hate them is because of the teen fanbase that can't tell that they are singing covers of songs. In fact, most of the time, after I hear the glee version and don't know the song, I go find what the real song sounds like and see which version sounds better from there.

If it wasn't for the outcry, nobody would have known that it was specifically Jonathon Coulton's arrangement of Baby Got Back. They wouldn't have known there was anyone to look for other than Sir Mixalot himself.

As I said, I didn't even know that this happened. But I'm probably still am going to watch it.

Doesn't help that I don't remember what the glee version sounded like or who the original singer is to be honest, not that I don't feel bad for him or anything, just don't have a strong feeling either way.

Yeah I know he is, I actually watch glee and I honestly never saw why to hate it. Plus, Chris also wrote a book and it's going to be a movie this year as well. And, Chris himself is pretty awesome.

But my question still holds, does fj tolerate glee now? Because I've seen a lot of not hate related gifs and posts involving glee lately.
