It does outperform the 6700K in multithreaded use, but not in singlethreaded. And yeah, even with it's 8 cores, the 8350 is hella weak even compared to a quad core i7.

I could do some similar testing with this aswell. I have a 5820K and 4790K, though my 5820K is only capable of 4.2Ghz stable despite having an EK waterblock sitting on top of it (silicon lottery pls), while I've already had my 4790K stable at 4.7Ghz on a Hyper 212 EVO in a little ITX case. God knows how high it could potentially OC on water. But I'll do all my tests with both CPUs on the same clock speeds, so the only difference in performance is from the extra cores, cache, and memory bandwidth.

right, but actually recently i saw how the 8350 performed the same as a 6700k in dx12 with ashes of singularity. so with zen on the horizon im curious how everything dx12 related will turn out. as of right now im feelin mighty good with my 5820k i have, but i also want to try my phenom II x6 since i know in some applications its ipc is greater than an fx for certain single core tasks.

Gotta like Amazon.
Want to return something for basically any reason whatsoever? If you're getting a replacement, they'll often send you a new one before you even return the old one, you can schedule a day to have it picked up from your house, and if you choose to have a refund, you can have it refunded either to your 1. payment method or as an Amazon gift balance.

Yeah, it's some shit. On the bright side, the online store I bought it from has a 45 day return period, and from my experience their customer service is really good. I would consider a replacement, but even if I got a new one that's not got any defects, there's still the shitty viewing angles and crappy blacks. And that is coming from me who always games on TN panels.

Kinda contemplating on just holding off until OLED doesn't cost an arm or a leg. Cause jesus christ it feels like a scam when bright images (like videos from this channel: www.youtube.com/user/jacobschwarz ) look near flawless and the backlight issues are almost impossible to see. But fire up a movie with dark scenes and it looks terrible.
