Well, a cheaper android phone will do all that things as good as an iphone, so you're paying less.
User avatar #8 - aldheim (11/15/2013) [-]
I would bet that the iphone is cheaper by a huge margin.
#15 - anon (11/15/2013) [-]
And shittier.
I can buy a webcam better than the iPhone for $30.
A laptop equal to its power is less than $300 (it would be cheaper, but you can't get it that shitty).
A cheap MP3 player is $30.
A watch is $20.
A phone is $15.

So that's $395 for all around better (you can actually use the computer as a computer), but still absolute shit, equivalents.

I'm currently taking an intro course to Electro Engineering in cold ass Denmark, and as much as i love Engineering, i sometimes find myself wanting to throw it all away, and go live a simple life in some tropical place.

People always talk about Engineering like it's something you do to get a well paying job. But sometimes i feel like i would be much happier in life, if i just stopped caring about all this education/job crap, and lived my life not trying to be successful at anything.
You know what i mean? :)

User avatar #19 - iirapechildren (02/07/2013) [-]
Quality of life as defined by most people is the ability to purchase what you want and have an affordable income, with savings and vacation. Basically freedom to buy whatever the fuck you want, whenever the fuck you want and do whatever the fuck you want. While thats not what most people say (such as you and I because I agree, money isn't everything) its the general consensus.
User avatar #162 - lasmamoe (02/07/2013) [-]
I really hope most people are not like that.

I seriously couldn't care less if i'll ever make a lot of money or not.
Thinking that the ability to buy shit equals a happy life, is a severely distorted view.
User avatar #268 - iirapechildren (02/07/2013) [-]
Well thats how its defined, so thats how people take it, it is sad though.
User avatar #282 - cysco (02/08/2013) [-]

having no friends and finding no woman, who loves you more than your money has a bgger value than all the guts on earth

American continent got same ammout of oil as middle east, and much of it hasnt been discovered. For example venezuela what has 600 billion barrels of oil, yes lets google and see middle east has 53% of worlds total oil, but this statistic has included countries oil, what arent in middle east (north africa).
You are saying people are wishing to die? havent you been to psyholocy glasses? People who wish to die live in RICH countries, suicide and wish to die exist civilized places, their instincts kick in and only thing what they wish for is to live. I can't say living in a hut with 10 brothers and sisters is civilized. Al-Qaeda spirital leader were Iraq leader, so he had all the ''national rights'' to bring muslim belives to us. Same thing was with germany 70 years ago, but the main difference is germany had world strongest army and they think allah protects them, take italy for example, they failed restoring anciet rome honor because they tought they are strong and had no effort in advancing their technology. Those spiritual leaders think same, actually they got no power compared to western countries.

not able to classify people. but there are people in worse situation. without pointed to africa, there are people who are totally forgotten just waiting to die in their young meaningless lives. who decided, which one are getting the help by the US? It cant be just the oil fields in the middle east. the terror in these regions wouldnt been a threat to the US if they hadnt invade them first way. to terror is no excuse.

estimated 1 120 000 deaths are total deaths of iraq in the same time as war on terror has been going on. Only 42 951 deaths are related to US army activities, that is 3,8% of total. Lack of hygiene, food and fresh water has killed about 30x times more people. And i bet you haven't heard from program what suplies iraq civilians with food and fresh water, think of how much deaths there might be without USA supplies.
User avatar #101 - cysco (02/06/2013) [-]
to be honest. no, i didnt heard these numbers (in that way). but that doesnt excuse the 42951 deaths by soldiers. to help them they didnt need to guns. to stop the terror there doesnt excuse the over 40 thousand deaths by them. there a many organisation who are doing the best for the people there which had to take massive regresses because of shootings from the US army. Schools, which were builded by these organisations were destroyed. i really dont see that the effort the US Army puts there is fair-minded

US military raports can be seen by citizens.
you are trying to argue here, i'm using legit information as it is known as debating.
or we could 'argue' in that case there have been alot more deaths in iraq in that time, but keep in mind that these deaths have nothing related to US army.
It is about perspective, i could ask how many jews died because of nazis? looking where you are from i could say you'd try to state that number small as possible, but i could state 40x more because there is someones non-legit source about it.
