gravity is G*M/r^2. If you increase the diameter of the earth by 50% you're adding mass bu also increasing the radius. So no, gravity would't be about 4 times in magnitude. It would be about two times the magnitude. Get math right.

Multiplying the mass by 4 increases the gravity of earth by four. True, the force on the spaceship does not scale the same way.
If we calculate only relative gravity i'll allow myself to remove the gravitational constant from your equation. Thus M is quadrupled and r is multiplied by 1.5. If M and r were 1 for earth the equation would yield 1/1^2 = 1 gravity. Otherwise: 4/1.5^2 = 4/2.25 = 1.777
I concede my previous calculation.
I must also point out that your use of "magnitude" is very off. One magnitude is a multiplication by 10. If gravity increased by 4 magnitudes, it would be an astonishing 10.000 greater. ^-^

Someone below you got a thumb for posting a Bill Nye .gif saying science.
You did actual science, with lots of lovely numbers.
If there is no other way of showing gratitude in a tangible manner on this site, at the very least, you deserve a thumb as well. More than that.
Thank you for making a distinctly valuable contribution to the conversation.
