Corporate, capitalist, war-hungry country.

America was founded on the idea of "we", community, peace, and freedom. This was because its constitution was written by those who had just fought for freedom from oppression by the British. But since then, the Bill of Rights is disappearing, the rich are getting richer and everybody else is getting poorer, its a plutocracy, its creating wars all over the world and trying to influence countries all over the world. There used to be a time when the rich were taxed 90%, when you could pay off your mortgage in several years, when healthcare was free and everybody had a good paying job and everybody had a paid for vacation, when life was about peace and America wasn't starting wars around the world and making enemies all the time.

Interesting how America decides what is better for other countries isn't it? Since the invasion, America has been recognized as the occupier and oppressor. It has motivated more and more radicals, killed many, many, many innocent people, turned the region into a permanent war zone, and destroying so much infrastructure- and despite all this, radical terrorism hasn't been destroyed. If anything, the war on terror has been a catalyst for a new generation of terrorists. I wish the US was operating on the intentions of humanity and peace, but its operating on its own selfish self-interests.

We are the only country that has the balls to look at a fucked up international situation and say, "We should fix this." The reason we are seen as the "world police" is because we step in to offer aid to the oppressed, to give them freedom. Why else would we have interest in Afghanistan. They harbored terrorists, we took out the oppressive Taliban regime. But instead of leaving their country to shit, we stepped in to help them rebuild and protect themselves

The point is that so many Americans are fine with making Tsunami jokes, holocaust jokes, slavery jokes, etc. but when it comes to anything even slightly related to 9/11, they turn into you - they cry. They say it's not funny because that's something that actually effected them. Guess what. Every tragedy effected somebody out there.

In your original post, #368, you weren't complaining about people making fun of tragedies. You were SPECIFICALLY complaining about people making fun of 9/11.

That's like me making fun of American children with cancer & you getting pissed that I'm making fun of Americans. Never mind the cancer, or them being children; it's like being mad specifically because of the American-factor. Lets have some real talk. Though I appreciate your service, you're an over-patriotic, narrow-minded dip shit & for the most part, this country sucks camel dicks. I wish it didn't, but it does.

However, I am especially adamant about 9/11 and the resulting wars because its very very close to me. I might get deployed to an entirely different hemisphere to fight and die for the likes of you, and it dissapoints me. My great friend died two years ago in Afghanistan, and I am disappointed that he died for your sorry shit. Thousands of us soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice in a country not many could find on a map, and still you bitch. You cant make light of shit like this, you cant just say "Oh its the internet so its OK." What justified the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Afghanis and Iraqis?

Over 90% of Afghanis don't even know what 9/11 is! Yet you go into their country, Iraq too, kill hundreds of thousands, destroy thousands of building, because of a small group of radicals? I was watching TV the other day and they were interviewing an old Afghani man and he was saying " Afghanistan is so weak! We don't even have a donkey yet alone the power to blow up two buildings! Then you come here, kill us and our children! You tell us you are here to help but you destory our country, give our children guns to fight while you give your own children pens and paper to write!"
#437 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
What you failed to specify is that we are warring against Al Qaeda and the Taliban, not Iraq and Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, we brought down the oppressive Taliban regime while arming the Afghan military so they could better protect themselves against the Taliban. I would think that basic safety and preservation is more important than education. That said, we have built countless schools in Afghanistan since we arrived.

Do you complain about those? Of course you don't, because those tragedies didn't happen to/in your country.

Shut the fuck up hypocrite.
#396 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
You don't know shit about me. I fucking hate it when anyone tries to make fun of any kind of tradgedy. You motherfuckers obviously don't have any respect for life or the people who try to protect it.
User avatar #398 - staticenhance (09/25/2011) [-]
Don't like it? Then get the fuck off the internet.

Or grow some god damn balls. Your choice kid.
#413 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
This doesnt have anything to do with balls, kid. This view of yours show that you dont know shit. Im in the US Marine Corps, and though I havent been deployed, Ive been training like hell to get the chance to avenge the deaths of those who have fallen, whether by tradgedy or in the line of duty. You cant make light of shit like this, you cant just say "Oh its the internet so its OK." Its fucking wrong, but you wont understand this until youve seen a friend come home in a coffin draped with the American flag. Your brain cant conceptualize this, so you think its ok to make fun of. Your wrong.
User avatar #441 - staticenhance (09/25/2011) [-]

#478 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
And dont fucking say you appreciate my service, because you obviously dont
#472 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
I really am sorry that someone, somewhere has caused you to lose respect for this country. And if you look at #413 and #439, i object to joking about any sort of tradgedy. Its not right. Im not being overpatriotic and narrow-minded, Im just fucking pissed off because I will have to go overseas and risk my life for your sorry ass, and because my best friend died to protect an armchair warrior like yourself. I felt that I had a duty to protect my country, and so did my buddy.
User avatar #709 - staticenhance (09/25/2011) [-]
This country has caused me to lose respect for this country. Maybe you forgot what respect is? It's something to be EARNED. If you deserve it, you get it, if not, you don't. And please don't sit there and tell me how I do or do not feel about the our military servicemen. You're in no position to do so.

It is possible to admire the fighters while simultaneously being upset with the country they fight for. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Goddamn you really dont know shit. Operation Desert Storm was launched in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, an innocent country, for oil. After we beat their shit, we gave the country back and retreated. Fast forward to 2001, and Al Qaeda launches the 9/11 attacks cause they generally hate America. In response, we again invaded Iraq and Afghanistan because Saddam Hussein and the Taliban were harboring the insurgents. Our war is with Al Qaeda, not Iraq.
#377 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
What can possibly justify the death of 3000 innocent american civilians?
#414 - DrDolittle (09/25/2011) [-]
What justified the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Afghanis and Iraqis?

#477 - DrDolittle (09/25/2011) [-]
Interesting how America decides what is better for other countries isn't it? Since the invasion, America has been recognized as the occupier and oppressor. It has motivated more and more radicals, killed many, many, many innocent people, turned the region into a permanent war zone, and destroying so much infrastructure- and despite all this, radical terrorism hasn't been destroyed. If anything, the war on terror has been a catalyst for a new generation of terrorists. I wish the US was operating on the intentions of humanity and peace, but its operating on its own selfish self-interests.
#487 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
We are the only country that has the balls to look at a fucked up international situation and say, "We should fix this." The reason we are seen as the "world police" is because we step in to offer aid to the oppressed, to give them freedom. Why else would we have interest in Afghanistan. They harbored terrorists, we took out the oppressive Taliban regime. But instead of leaving their country to shit, we stepped in to help them rebuild and protect themselves
#499 - DrDolittle (09/25/2011) [-]
If that was true, I would totally agree with intervening. Do you think I hate America just for the sake of it? No! I love the idea of the American constitution, the Bill of Rights it was loved for and the freedom is was supposed to the always support, but that's not the America there is today.
#510 - chestypuller (09/25/2011) [-]
Then what do you think the America of today is?
#521 - DrDolittle (09/25/2011) [-]
