My best friend is transgender, he was originally a she, but he went public about him being transgender a year ago. Since then he's asked to be referred to as a he, or Xander (was originally Evangeline). Just refer that person to whatever they wish, and if you do not know what they want you to call them, ask them.

They don't get offended if you ask about that? I have been so scared to talk to them because I was afraid of offending. My best friend has a cousin that she has been trying to set me up with, and she tells me to just go talk to them, but I've been terrified to. I've talked to them before and everyone calls her Mac. With all my friends, whether they're male or female, I always greet them with "what's up man?" or "hey dude" But I really think that would offend her. She told me about her being transgendered a few months after I met her, and I've been so careful not to make any gender references. We get along really well, and there's a good amount of attraction between us. She's 23, I'm 21. (just so you know, i'm a woman) I just don't know how to bring up any of it, or even asking her out or anything. Do you have any advice?

I find transgendered people really beautiful. Although it's awkward for me to talk about them or to them, because I don't know whether to refer to them as he/she him/her. i don't want to offend any of them. This is awkward... I'll just stop.
