"The only people that's been offended are people who don't buy from them in the first place, there's no net loss, it's a brilliant strategy really."

It's a dumbass strategy, because the fact is that this company gained almost all of its attention from the ads they made in real life, NOT from their tweets.

So whether they behaved badly or not on twitter, they would have gotten the same attention.

The difference is that if they had some respect, when normal average people that make up most of the population (i.e: people who don't hate on fat people, and yet don't spew bullshit like "healthy at every size") went online and looked them up, they would find a professional company that knows how to handle criticism.

Instead they get turned off by what seems to be a company that has a PR team of 13-year-old.

In other words:

Thanks to the IRL ads, the company would have gained the same amount attention regardless of their online comments, except it would be far more positive. This was an opportunity for them to demonstrate professionalism and appear to THE AVERAGE MAJORITY of people IRL and have a far more sales figure than even what they got now.

Instead they were blinded and chose to appeal to THE MINORITY that mocks fat people and have the mental maturity of a 12-year-old, which, again, might be a popular mentality on funny junk, but not in real life.

Majority > Minority => Extreme increase in sales > Great increase in sales.

That's all I got to say.

First of all, if they hadn't behaved badly, then they would have only got the same amount of attention as if there wasn't a twitter at all, however because they've said such an outrageous thing, they've drawn more attention to themselves, thus bringing more potential customers. Think of it like the director Uwe Bowell. He made absolutely abismall films, and no-one would have bothered with him and his films afterwards, except he did that bat-shit insane thing by challenging all of his critics to a boxing match and bellowing his films are masterpieces. He was way out of line for doing it, but it ended up landing him in the lime light and more people watched his films, enough that he could make more movie.

Whether right or wrong, they got what they wanted, people talking about them, and drawing more people to buy their products.

Second of all, the minority you're talking about are ACTUALLY the majority of their market base, they knew from the get go they were going to offend off the bat, so it stands to reason they thought about how many customers they'd lose compared to how many they'd gain, and decided they'd be gaining more than what they'd lose. It paid off. How many overweight people do you know actually go out of their way to buy fitness products, compared to those that focus on fitness as a lifestyle and career? A very small amount.

I totally agree that the CGI was bad. Like the way his suit was CGI most of the time, even the fucking mask.

I think the acting was okay, except for all the women actually. They seemed to all just play the same generic gf role. I don't think it was a good movie, I just think it was entertaining. Definitely not as bad as Elektra, Jonah Hex, Catwoman, or one of the many hopeless Batman and Superman movies

You're right, but only because whoever wrote that (like about a quarter of these "facts") has received the information through Chinese whispers, and misunderstood.

The entire concept of zombies didn't exist before the walkers turned up in The Walking Dead.
