that's what they said in the undercover stories but still even if she still looks eight, the matter with me is not the look, it's the fact that the "smart kid" flunked 2nd grade 26+ times.

They've tried many times replicate vanilla, it's not just things like soil, it's the entire eco-system, remove one element it doesn't work.

But besides the point, can't really give humanity much benefit considering they've been around for over 10,000 years and to this day we do terrible things as murder and rape. It's not about 'good or bad', it's just simple natural instinct. When humanity was small and spread out, we looked out for each other more because community meant survival, however as time has gone on, and humanity has come to dominate this planet, group survival wasn't a necessity and simple self preservation took point.

Greed isn't a human concept though, it too is a natural thought pattern. I see my cats get greedy with food, often muscling in on each others plates to eat as much as they can, not because they are hungry, but because it's there to be eaten. The only reason the world is in the state it is right now, is not because of greed, but rather wilful ignorance on all parts, the general public and the government.

Now hold on. Your point is valid, but we need to widen the picture a bit. We are greedy because the things like food, housing, and just living in general we have to pay for. Would be be as greedy if everything was free. You could pick up some wood and pipes an make a house wherever you want and not have to worry about taxes or such nonsense. You'd go find seeds and animals you can breed and you'd survive without having to need anything from everywhere else. Now you may say that that is more savage then what were used to. But if you really think about it, where would the health and mentality of our nation be if we didn't have all the extras. If we used all our information and resources for the community and not the individual. The purpose of life isn't to live. It's to coexist with each out, with nature, and with the universe. It's how we evolve. Now look at society now and you wonder why we aren't the great human race we use to be.

The great human race we used to be? Dude, most of the fucked up shit we do now days we did back then, the only difference is now days we have not only have the information to learn from the past, and the technology to help make lives easier. Making everything free won't curb greed, it just gives greedy people an even better excuse to take it all. 'I'm not doing anything wrong, it's all free'. Putting a price on something helps limit things from being overused, such as vanilla, Vanilla can only be grown on one place on earth, if it was free everyone would take it and vanilla would go extinct, so we put a high price on vanilla to curb greedy people from taking more than they need.

How can money be introduced to create a same cost margin for something when the supply/demand for different areas have always been the leading factor of price. Money has no use in an era of technology that can end hunger, diseases, and warfare if we shared everything we knew and didn't try to make a buck off of it. We don't have cures and peace because it's not profitable. Now tell me how money is a necessary evil. Think outside of the stock market. We don't need things, we need each other. Money only comes between us.
User avatar #153 - cheatman (02/23/2015) [-]
No, money doesn't come between people, people come between each other. I can guarantee that even if there was no money at all, the guy who has a product would demand compensation for his product, whether it is the cure for a nasty disease, or something insignificant such as a games console. It's as you've already said, human nature.

I don't mean equal as in item A is worth item B, but rather it puts a limit to greed to a degree. A person selling something is out to get as much as he can get, so what's to stop him from asking for every item of belonging in your possession? Two things, a governing body to set a fair price, and something to trade in place of actual goods that you need. Yes, supply/demand has a big impact on value, but some people ignore this and help themselves, making less for everyone else. Money helps by curbing stupid decisions like selling important farmland for a sack of potatoes. Yeah, you can eat potatoes, but what happens if everyone around you doesn't want to trade for those potatoes. Won't you feel gyped for selling a farm for potatoes. With a monetary system, yeah, you could still sell the farm for a pittance, but because everyone uses money, everyone will accept your money for something you want that you can afford.

I just can't agree that Money is a necessary evil, money was created for thieves. You think it's easier to steal a bale of hay, or the money a bale of hay is worth. Money may not have created greed, but it sure as hell made it easier and more beneficial to be greedy. And humans nature is naturally greedy so it's like kerosene on a flame.
User avatar #128 - cheatman (02/23/2015) [-]
Money was created to prevent thieves. Trade was made initially so that you could get something for something, however what an items worth is varies from person to person, so money was introduced so that an item could always have an equal value. However, in time stupid people considered Money=Value, and thus the lust for money was born.

It's like how in the older countries that still marry children to each other at the age of 10, way back when it made sense, but nowdays it's only kept as a tradition, except with money, if we got rid of it, we'd still end up with idiots trying to barter an eraser for a new car.
