It's not so much that they wewre there with the intent to stop him, as much as to see what happened. Now, i don't know too much about DC (more of a marvel fan) but my limited understanding of the Flash tells me that he's an overall easy going guy, or at least, he's not the kind of guy to take such drastic actions like breaking into all of the houses and installing smoke alarms on impulse. Such a sudden shift of how one behaves tends to draw attention of those close to them, and typically, those close to them want to try and help. In my eyes, it's no different than say, hypothetically speaking, the indefatigable and gung-ho Wolverine of the X-men suddenly became terrified of being injured, Those close to him would try to figure out what the hell happened and help as much as they can, however little that may be.

I mean flash is the moral center of the league. hell every time there is a parallel universe where the entire league goes bad its often because flash dies. I'd say flash is the one purely good hero in all of DC, he even befriends a lot of his lesser villains who are actually just mentally ill. So when he's outta whack like that it hits all the league

I think thats mostly because he is the most human
Despite batman being human he is so different from other people that he barely counts.
I think most of the Flash's have been pretty regular dudes in their normal lives.

yea, basically. Flash, barry allen at least, works with the central city police as a forensics scientist. he has a very grounded character to begin with, before he's flash. which i think translates well.

Though it is kind of weird that a police forensics scientist has never seen dead kids before

Might not be Barry, might be wally. Having said that, I KNOW the rest of the JLA are just checking up on him to see if he's OK, it's just makes them look like pretentious pricks in that one panel.

they weren't exactly there to STOP him, i mean they weren't THRILLED with what he was doing, breaking and entering into literally ANY and all house/building he could, but why would they actually STOP him? he's actively making EVERYONE safer and making their jobs all easier, the entire reason they went to him was they KNEW he was reacting to something, and that, being the kind of man Barry is, it was really eating at him, they are all aware that his greatest strength AND weakness is he cares about EVERYONE, they know how hard he takes every last failure, harder than probably anyone else on the justice league, because even IF the amount of time each death eats at him were about the same as all the other heroes, to him, that amount of time can be INFINITELY longer because of how quickly his mind works

then people would just complain that Konami "Reskinned" MGS gameplay. surely that gameplay is more important to the games identity than the themes and story right? if the themes change, but the gaemplay still feels like a metal gear game, then I think it will be worthy of the title.

I dunno I kinda feel like the fans hate Konami so much that no mater what they did, they would've been mad. granted, konami is a shitshow and I hate them too. but they could've made a generic, halfassed disapointing stealth game and slapped a MGS title on it and called it a day, but THIS... this took balls you have to admit. and I respect that. this actually looks interesting. an interesting spin on the core cameplay loop established in mgs5. and I want to give it a chance.

the issue is konami has spurned the metal gear fans, they played a key role in the true dissapointment of 5, the loss of all of kojima's other projects, like PT and zone of the enders. They even made a beautiful looking remaster of mgs3, for pachinko footage.

its a rightful anger, because konami has fucked up and fans want them to know it. Sure the game could be good, hell i want it to be at least fun so i can mentally disconnect the name and the game, but the problem is that no matter how good the game is it will always be the side thing tacked on to metal gear, like there is no prospect for the future there. Even if survive was the greatest survival game, they couldn't make a sequel, since its so ham fisted into the metal gear world

Here's the thing, nearly every game series you play will have a game or two that will have different gameplay to the last, but will still keep the themes. Metal gear itself has evolved it's gameplay from a top down stealth 'em up to an open world action game, with a couple of games with an entirely different gameplay altogether (Portable ops, acid, reveangence), put the stories all mesh because the overall themes match.

Resident evil is another example, between it's survival horror to it's action shooter gameplay of today, the themes have stayed overall the same, but people can agree that the quality of the games have gone down ever since they took the action route, because the theme didn't really fit. The gameplay to Resident Evil 6 isn't actually shit, but it was so off putting because you never felt tense. You were supposed to feel fear against the monstrosities that were set upon you, but you can't really do that if you were diving about getting headshots like a pro.

TLR, The title of a game pertains to it's themes, not the gameplay in particular. Don't slap a title on something if it has nothing to do with the title.
