Let's say that a person is only walking 5k a day due to pokemon, but he doesn't change any of his other habits. And let's say the person is a bit of a tubbo, due to office job and strict schedule. 230 pounds. Let's say he also walks pretty consistently at the average for young men, which is 5 km/hr. We've gotten pretty good at determining how much calories such a thing will burn, and the amount is closer to 500 than 400.
Maybe you're one of those people like me, that views a 5k walk as what you do to get coffee in the morning, before swinging heavy metal bars around all day at a welding plant and walking another 5k home. But the average person who has an office or retail job will get out of their bed in the morning, go sit in their car for 40 minutes, get to their job and sit at their desk for 8 hours, and then sit in their car for another 40 minutes, before doing whatever light activity is needed around the house.

I mean if it helped you to change your lifestyle from not moving at all to doing 5-10 km a day, then good for you, you will definitely feel better and healtier.
I'm not trying to deny that is some sort of activity but i just can't stand someone's saying that he's "active" or he's "not playing but exercising".
It won't make you an athlete, you won't gonna lose weight just because you walk few miles a day if you are not on a diet, quite the opposite, very often it ends with additional meals or snacks just because you consider yourself more "active" than in fact you were and in overwall you ate more calories than you burned.
It's a good start, change of habits, like riding to work by bike instead of taking a bus but i never heard anybody considering himself as active becuase of that.
