I don't think I'll use 2 Pyro flames.
I don't want them to know I'm about to use the pyro when they see me change weapons.
I'd rather 2H my weapon, have a pyro in my left hand, and then cast at an unexpected time.

Bleed is kinda bad compared to DS1 bleed since it has a cooldown bar now, also with that said i need to head out for July 4th shit. Didn't want to go but getting forced, but anyways happy holidays and goodluck to your future arguments and definitely good luck on your sl 1 pvp.
User avatar #81 - walcorn (07/05/2014) [-]
Yeah, bleed is kinda shit this time around, which kinda sucks, but the point of that build was never aimed towards doing much damage, rather than having a lot of bleed effect.
Have fun with your 4th of July, you who are in a time zone where it is not yet the 5th.

2 poison channeler tridents usually do the same thing unless someone has a good poison shield or great magic shield, which no one uses anyways. Then again that fog had such a damn long range.
User avatar #76 - walcorn (07/05/2014) [-]
I considered doing that, but then I realized I was thinking like a fucking scrub and infused them with bleed instead with powerstancing, for the sole purpose of screwing around with people.
It's really fucking shit and you will get your ass handed to you 80% of the time, but it was fun.

Well the usefulness is mostly that it literally cuts the cast time for the second cast in half, but you are still entitled to play your own way. I personally use 2 catalysts to lay endless assaults and i guess it just kind reflected in my advice, but since you will only have 2 casts max i guess it makes sense to not need to worry too much about casting too fast.

Maybe I'll swap the Penal masks for one of those hoods that give one more cast for attuned spells so I can use 2 forbidden suns.

It's not too bad.
I used an ascetic in the shaded woods to get the +2 ring, which gives 3 attunement slots.
if I wanted to, I could go total scrublord and attune forbidden sun for PVP.
While I dislike using magic or pyromancies, I think the fact that I'm SL1 makes up for it.

My armor set is the Penal Mask, Penal Shackles (because Pyromancy is good for SL1's), Vengarl's Armor, and the Elite Knight Leggings, and I'm still lightrolling.

Also the vanquisher's seal isn't worth it if your STR is low
User avatar #36 - celestiasbeard (07/04/2014) [-]
Well getting the royal +2 is kind of necessary but I personally would also combine inv aurous with some elite knight gear to get a light but semi-protective armor set. Also you need to think about the fact that vanq seal requires no stats to power stance which allows you to put out moderate damage relatively quickly when combined with blade ring. Hitting around 70 seems unsatisfying at first but when considering it comes out as quick as it does, it makes up for its low damage. But you are right for not wanting to main it, which is why i recommended mundane club

The Champion ring isn't worth getting on an SL1 guy.
Way too much effort to gather those awestones
besides, it only counts for unarmed attacks.
User avatar #32 - celestiasbeard (07/04/2014) [-]
I know it only counts on unarmed but blades ring still gives it some damage, also farming rhoy makes getting the ring easy. Got all the awestones i needed in about 2 hours. Also since i would only hope the character wont be doing too high memory of pvp the ring could help in some cases with some of the players more vulnerable to stunlocks. Also its counter damage can hit like a truck sometimes.

User avatar #37 - walcorn (07/04/2014) [-]
I don't need Aurous.
My armor set is the Penal Mask, Penal Shackles (because Pyromancy is good for SL1's), Vengarl's Armor, and the Elite Knight Leggings, and I'm still lightrolling.
If I don't use the crossbow or Blue wooden shield when I go PVP'ing with it, I could probably use even better armor
User avatar #38 - celestiasbeard (07/04/2014) [-]
Hm, maybe I'm too into fashion souls but i just don't like the penal mask. All in all though for effectiveness, your build seems pretty practical. Kinda sucks you need to use a ring to get the att slots but I guess that's just part of the struggle with being deprived.
User avatar #40 - walcorn (07/04/2014) [-]
It's not too bad.
I used an ascetic in the shaded woods to get the +2 ring, which gives 3 attunement slots.
if I wanted to, I could go total scrublord and attune forbidden sun for PVP.
While I dislike using magic or pyromancies, I think the fact that I'm SL1 makes up for it.
User avatar #42 - celestiasbeard (07/04/2014) [-]
Yeah, being level 1 kinda excuses you for most cheap tactics. Just like how I will get 1-shot by most attacks makes me feel better about 1-2 shotting most people.
User avatar #44 - walcorn (07/04/2014) [-]
Maybe I'll swap the Penal masks for one of those hoods that give one more cast for attuned spells so I can use 2 forbidden suns.
It's probably worth sacrificing a little equip load for that.
User avatar #47 - celestiasbeard (07/05/2014) [-]

I don't think I'll use 2 Pyro flames.

User avatar #68 - celestiasbeard (07/05/2014) [-]
Fucking forgot about giant dad 2.0. Which reminds me, bat staff got removed which means giant dad 2.1 needs an update.
User avatar #70 - walcorn (07/05/2014) [-]
Yeah but the bat staff was broken as fuck when casting dark fog, so it was for the best it got nerfed
User avatar #69 - celestiasbeard (07/05/2014) [-]
Not removed, nerfed. Stupid me.
User avatar #63 - celestiasbeard (07/05/2014) [-]
Ahh, you just gave me the idea of filling my att bar with them and making a sun barrage. I'm sure it's been done before, but it just makes me feel all warm inside thinking about it.

User avatar #59 - walcorn (07/05/2014) [-]
Casting both at once also seems like a generally bad idea when I only got 2 of them.
It's easy to roll dodge 2 casts in a row when those are the only 2.
User avatar #53 - celestiasbeard (07/05/2014) [-]
Well since they are weightless you can have one as a back-up for instances of your enemy running. Obviously won't run too far, but still.
User avatar #54 - walcorn (07/05/2014) [-]
I still don't see the usefulness in it.
one of them should be enough for the playstyle I've adapted to.
User avatar #33 - walcorn (07/04/2014) [-]
Even with all that, I want the +2 version of the royal soldier's ring.
The extra equipload is much needed at Soul Level 1.
I'm stacking this with the Third Dragon Ring and Penal Mask so I can wear better Armor without the fat-rolling.

He's not a knight, he doesn't preach religion, he's never really became a King (he was mostly only talked about being the son of the King, never becoming one. And as he fought in the books, he was still just a prince.), he's only a fashion Queen, and he's not a tower or a chariot which rooks are suppose to be.
What would you have him as?
User avatar #22 - celestiasbeard (09/06/2013) [-]
Well if you want to get that technical he's not a pikeman or similar infantry, I was just saying he's just not as weak as one would imagine a pawn to be.

"so mysterious and sexy in her suit" but she makes the game worse... pick one
#117 - sanguinesolitude (08/18/2013) [-]
oh no i hated the ending too. Tali moment came before and pissed me off and then i settled in and was royally pissed off by every aspect of the ending. That the choices you made earlier dont matter at all. that the earth is nearly destroyed but now has billions of aliens many of whom cant eat earth foods and cant make it back to their homes. that the citadel was a reaper all along WTF then why did Sovereign have to activate it if it was the nerve center and sentient the whole time? Why after choosing my own way in every situation before did i just sit back like a bitch and do whatever the star child said. Why the fuck was there a child in my dreams who ended up being a reaper. Where did the elusive man come from? Literally why the fuck is he here, it adds nothing to the story and makes no sense at all. Why did all three choices suck equally and not make sense. How did the normandy escape the explosion of the mass relays? to do so meant they had to run away like bitches before the explosion went off, meaning they were cowardly running away without me having warned them. That after so much build up going around the galaxy, the solution is to shoot a colored pipe.
The ending didnt answer any questions... at all. It turns out the advanced AI is basically an idiot and his reasoning makes zero sense. Nothing gets wrapped up, the universe gets thrown into turmoil, and we are supposed to be satisfied. Worse still it basically closes the door to being able to have a sequel since the cool part of being able to bounce around the galaxy is gone with the end of the mass relays

I dont know how they could do a ME4 it would be either really brutal in the ruins of earth and the galaxy, or
#120 - shadowbreech (08/18/2013) [-]
I have to go now so it was nice discussing this with you and I hope BioWare has the decency not to let such a gaming master piece end so horribly...
#119 - shadowbreech (08/18/2013) [-]
A few details to correct (might help you). The kid you see was just the form the catalyst took for your convenience, based on the real kid who you couldn't save at the start (thus the nightmares). The elusive man was somebody who discovered the reapers and wanted to control them. He was pro human to radical levels and ultimately went crazy when he underestimated the control reaper tech would have on him. I think the Citadel wasn't a reaper, just one of their toys. They wanted to be a myth so nobody would've spent millennia prepping for them. They only killed advanced civilizations. in the DLC, you Promethean crew member mentions Quarians and Salarians but they weren't killed off. It was to limit how far technology grew so synthetics wouldn't kill off all organic life in the universe. But still, the fuck your choices do as we say ending was a horrible thing to me. But as for the Mass Relays, who knows. Maybe they have keepers on board for the event an organic made it to the control center and chose one of the options that were already there, maybe there was a reaper back up plan...
I'm saying there is room for them to BS a ME4. I find that if you get in a tight spot (especially in stories), BSing can get you out of it so hopefully somebody at BioWare has that skill...
#111 - sanguinesolitude (08/18/2013) [-]
the world isnt all black and white child. I picked her all three games, and then got to the final one and when we get back to her planet, which i have managed to return her people to she takes off her mask and we get excited for the reveal 3 games in the making... and they dont show her. So still happy her people are saved from their deep space sojourn we return to the ship, and are insulted by the creators who for some unknown reason passed up the chance to show us her face in the one place she could safely be without her suit, and instead give us a crappy stock photo that has been poorly photoshopped. Its the ultimate insult to those who chose tali. They kept it a mystery all 3 games, so when they didnt show you her face on her world, whcih would be the logical reveal, you assume they are going to keep the mystery going. And then instead they show you a piss poor 10 minute project by an intern. Either reveal her and do it right or keep it a mystery. pissed me the fuck off because she was my favorite character.

LOOK AT HER GODDAMN HAND LOOK AT IT.
#113 - shadowbreech (08/18/2013) [-]
If the mystery of Tali's face was such a huge part of the game for you... I don't know. Maybe I just cared more about the ending where no matter what you do, the basis of space travel is ruined for the galaxy, thus separating all soldiers from their families, I've heard controlling the reapers still leaves earth destroyed, and Commander Shepard is "dead." I hope the ending where the old man says, "Ok, one more story," goes with the N7 chestplate inhaling to mean we'll get a ME4. I've ranted off topic, the Tali BS didn't faze me after everything else about the game.
User avatar #67 - arandomanon (08/18/2013) [-]
I couldn't disagree more with you.
User avatar #107 - sanguinesolitude (08/18/2013) [-]
was supposed to be a question. I chose tali all three games and was very unhappy about mass effect 3. Especially since i was able to make peace between the quarians and Geth, and get her back her homeworld. And then we were there, she took her helmet off and I was excited... this is going to be the big reveal. 3 games, hundreds of hours later this is the logical moment to show me her face. And they dont, so I was like ok thats fine keep the mystery alive... get back on the ship and there is a shitty photoshopped stock photo in my cabin. So the bastards decide to "reveal" her face, but not where they should have and in the most insulting bullshit way imaginable to the fans.
User avatar #110 - arandomanon (08/18/2013) [-]

User avatar #108 - arandomanon (08/18/2013) [-]
I didn't know it was the stock photo. I understand your point saying that they could have put more effort on Tali's looking but I still think that her character is the best.

In case you didn't know, Tali's face is shown in ME3. Sure it's just a picture, but shut up.
It actually pissed a lot of people off because it's just the stock photo on the left that's slightly edited.
User avatar #91 - sanguinesolitude (08/18/2013) [-]
thats what pissed me off. i was standing on her goddamn planet. the one facking place in the universe she could take her mask off. She takes her mask off and they dont show her face. So i'm like ok fine keep the mystery. And then she gives me the goddamn stock photo.
User avatar #57 - xenophaigus (08/18/2013) [-]
