You're deluded if you think being independent is so great. Humans are social animals, we thrive when we work together and adhere to social norms.
Convincing yourself that being set aside from society, It doesn't make you any stronger, it makes you a human island.
So go ahead and tell yourself that you already know all there is to know, it totally doesn't make you a naive person or anything. *cough cough*

"He Japan, you want to surrender yet?"

"Naw, we'll continue to war"

"How about now?"

"Who do you think you are, we'll keep fighting."

There's nothing controversial about this. The US warned Japan and they didn't listen. Sure it was a terrible act but the Japanese military had convinced everyone that Americans were monsters. Civilians preferred jumping off cliffs rather than be taken by American soldiers.

except the allies called for unconditional surrender with outrageous terms, and threatened them with a weapon of immense power that they didn't even believe existed.

no fucking shit they didn't surrender.

If there bombs weren't dropped (an action that was NOT taken lightly) there would have been an invasion, with millions of more deaths. You also want to pain americans as monsters in the war? Look at how the japanese treated their p.o.w.'s...that is what a monster does. Nobody likes having to drop bombs that will kill not only military targets but many innocent men women and children, but it was done to save many more

Yet another history revisionist that has Japan's cock up their ass because it's hard for them to believe the modern day sweet loving anime producing Japanese were the good guys in WWII.

Japan on multiple occasions sent peace offers to the U.S., yes, but they requested they return to a defacto status as before the war, meaning they kept all their colonies including the ones in China. Now, if you understand the war culture of Japan at the time, we can honestly say accepting that offer was NOT a smart idea. Which is why we didn't. They would of, in time, just repaired themselves, mobalized and attacked again. We called their bullshit, they didn't listen, we bombed them, their fault.

What historical evidence? Japan was given multiple opportunities to surrender, and while you're partially correct because the Emperor of Japan was willing to step down as one of the surrender conditions of the U.S., his officers refused to allow him to do so until they too relented after the second bomb was dropped.

Feel free to deny this as "American propaganda" but come on, it makes sense for a guy living in America to have studied U.S History. And if you REALLY want to pull the propaganda card, I can just say that your evidence is propaganda too.

I study history at university, of course I am going to dismiss that evidence as propaganda; it's written with an agenda - to get you all to love 'Murica to the point where killing thousands in an horrific way seems legitimized.

It wasn't that hard to find evidence supporting me. In all honesty, they are the first three hits from a Google search, as I really cba going to my Uni library to get the required books which I've read to quote to you.
But have a read of them and tell me that the A-Bomb was necessary.

Which is better, millions of deaths, or thousands of deaths?
Millions more wouldve died in a land invasion of Japan.

Actually, historical evidence points us in a different direction.
Japan was ready to submit before the bomb was dropped. It's been world acknowledged that the A-Bomb has been THE single worst human event, and I'd on par with the holocaust. You denyance of this shows that American propaganda has been very effective on you.
