I don't like romance genre and Toradora is just basic romance crap. The plot advances way too quickly and it seems characters go from happy go lucky to angsty and yelly in a matter of minutes. It seems as if the writers consistently didn't know what to do with the show.

They have more frames because the drawings they make takes 5 seconds to make vs the far more detailed anime style. It's like giving you the choice of getting paid the same amount of money to recreate the Mona Lisa 5 times or redraw a stick figure 20 times.

Ehm, sorry, but that's not actually true. Anime is actually really simple in terms of drawing. The backgrounds are very detailed so the viewer feels more immersed. The characters often drawn with very little detail so that the emotions shown in eyes and mouth are more in focus.

In comparison to western style it is. And besides, as you probably know there are different types of anime styles just like western. But most anime are more detailed (even just the characters alone) than the majority of western animation and I don't think that can be debated much considering western animation usually doesn't even bother with highlights/shadows on their characters.

I haven't seen animay mango that has proper lypsinc. I've seen a clip from an anime that has a character speaking, closeup, and he has only two frames. Fucking laziness at it's best.

Also, many "western" ones have realistically sized eyes and noses...

It's not actually laziness, it's a remain from japanese traditional puppet theater, which anime is based on.
#282 - hentaisweetie (03/19/2014) [-]
They do that on purpose to have it translated into various different languages. As far as realistic western eyes sizes goes- no, no they do not. For those that do there are just as many if not more anime that do as well.
<-Monster is an example of this.

No, they don't make it so it can be translated. It's a "leftover" from the puppet theaters back in the day.

If we wanted any sort of "reality" we wouldn't be watching cartoons. We would go outside.
