#18 - This was a great show. Not this new Teen Titans Go crap.  [+] (12 replies) 08/21/2015 on Teen Titans +3

I like both, and it seems pretty unfair to compare to series with one another since they have a different agenda...

It's cool if the creators want to make a show with a different agenda, but why do they have to use the characters from the teen titans. They don't need to use the titans. If they actually used original characters, the probably would have been much better received.
It's completely fair to compare the two, because they both use the same set of characters. Imagine if they tried the same shit with Samurai Jack? Or make 24 a sitcom? It wouldn't work

Yes and no.

They used the same characters, but that's no reason to judge it COMPLETELY out of context from its target audience. I don't expect the old Saturday-morning Batman cartoons and the modern Dark Knight movies to have the same attitude. I don't expect the animated Star Wars series that plays on cartoon network to have the same attitude as the original films.

So yes, it's fair to make some comparisons, but that doesn't mean you just throw the context of target audience completely out the window. Why would I not want young children to be able to enjoy the same characters I enjoyed as a teenager / adult?

Well I for one accepted and liked it, and again. I really find it cute. it 's just your opinion so no matter how much you don't like it, that won't stop me, and other people who like it to stop liking it. Again, it's not really fair for me to compare them because even if they use the same set of characters both shows are not trying to compete with one another. After all,It's really obvious Robin in the original series is not the robin in the teen titans go series. but simply to entertain all of us, the audience. Plus we see examples of parodies already : Lego Marvel/ Lord of the rings/Batman, Carnival phantasm , Super deform shorts in Avatar... and I don't see anyone complaining except for than teen titans go that is ... they creator's are fully aware of it also, as the vid shows Teen Titans Go! Season 2 Episode 32 Let's Get Serious

teen titans go is actually enjoyable, it doesn't even really stray far from the original show, it just takes out all the moody teenage angst and gives you just the retarded comedy, which if you actually went back and watched the original you would see everywhere.

They replaced the angst with no story arc and Robin being batshit crazy.

I admire that you very open-minded about Teen Titans go, I also like it just as much as the original.

"Stray too far" no, no... They straight up ruined character's personalities. It's pretty shit.

in go they took each character and based them on their most basic personality traits, robin is a tight ass-ed neurotic control freak, starfire is a ditzy foreigner, beast boy is a retard, raven is bored teenager, and cyborg is a bro.

I see what you mean, I just don't appreciate this one as much as the previous version. I enjoyed the more dark - moody teenage angst that it had, but that's just me. Everyone has their personal taste.

personally i enjoy both, teen titans was one of the shows i watched constantly when i was younger so when i saw the new series a couple years ago i was struck by the nostalgia wave.
