I guess to actually leave the materialistic world to live free. Yeah, he died, but his choice to leave everything behind was loved by a lot of people. I being one of them. I don't have the balls to leave friends, family, etc behind to just get up and travel to Alaska. Some think he was stupid, but it doesn't matter. His reasoning to go was also noble. Read some of his quotes, and he also became some type of icon after his death and his diary was discovered. A lot of people look up to him as some sort of role model.

You can always train yourself to be pretty good at everything, no matter how shitty you are at something. I decided I would learn to draw a couple of years back and these drawings are about a month apart. I know it's not a masterpiece but it's an improvement
User avatar #28 - gravysponge (06/25/2015) [-]
That isn't true, noone is born being able to draw.

Everyone starts by drawing people without bodies and their arms coming out of their heads, and learn from there.

The reason these amazing artists seem so talented is because for their whole lives they've been drawing, and not just drawing, but paying attention to what they're drawing and trying to learn.

If you see a 20 year old who's a godlike artist, it's because they didn't pay attention in school or play organized sports or play videogames, all they did was draw and learn. If you start drawing at 20, and have the same work ethic as that 20 year old did during their teens, you'll be as good as them by the time you're 30. It just takes time.

I've seen people who start at 30 not knowing how to draw a cone to being amazing oil painters and art instructors in 3 years. Don't sell yourself short bud, you can learn to do anything as long as you believe it and you work at it.

you have to have interests for it in a young age
cause if you have enough time to learn to draw as an adult then you failed as an adult

thats the poitn for most people...they want to learn somethin they dont have time for cause they have serious shit to do

Well about the bullet in the barrel thing: far enough. It is possible but i frankly dont think mr agent hereput a mag in his gun then seperately loaded the gun with 1 extra bullet, who does that? I thought it would be much more reasonable to simply blame it on movie-making consistency. To the movie-watching experience: Well yes i think you can enhance the feeling by making the shots a little "rougher and faster" but I personally thought kingsman exaggerated a lot. Didnt like it at all. Next to that we had bad special effects. I didnt like the beginning fight scene, I didnt like the end fight scene. I dont know. Maybe I wasnt cut out for those kind of scenes. As far as Ong-Bak and Oldboy goes: Cmon maaaan. Oldboy was just.. soo great. Finally gang members who dont wait till the protagonist beats his friend up to leap in. He got his shit beaten out like theres no tomorrow. Realistic as fuck I think. Besides.. all in 1 shot. How amazing is that? Next to that finally a protagonist who also get tired. I loves the Raid and I loved Ong-Bak. I loved Ip man etc... but all those could just fight and fight 100 guys and didnt even break a sweat. I do Karate Kyokushin and let me tell you.. fighting full power makes you flaccid in less than 3 minutes. Stamina out. What I like about the Raid is that (in relation to other movies) beat up gangsters dont wait (most of the time) to beat the protagonists face. Its fluid because everyone is busy. Just like Oldboy as well. Maybe Kingsman scenes were not crap. Its difficult to cunstruct a good fight scene. What i do know is that from all the fighting-movies I watched I really really didnt like this one.

I´m doing that, and when I was in the Bundeswehr, we all did it (even though it was discouraged).
User avatar #70 - vladhellsing (06/25/2015) [-]
People (soldiers, officers and civilians alike) load their guns to full capacity all the time; full magazine + one round already in the chamber. It gives you that one extra bullet which may end up saving your life. In a life or death situation, every bullet counts. And the Kingsman fight scene was done in three long takes. It's an over-the-top spy movie, of course the fight scene is going to take liberties with realism.
User avatar #97 - pocoloco (06/26/2015) [-]
Of course. I not saying the reason he had an extra bullet is the reason i dont like it. Like you said it yourself, it is possible and people do that. I thought it was bad consistency. However, bullet or not, i didnt like any fight scene from this movie. There are other scenes 100000 times better that were not in the comp. Not that they have to be. just comparing. Didnt like it. Actually: I didnt like the whole movie. But hey thats just me.

Well yes and no. To some point you can learn, but no-matter how I'll train I am not able to paint like that, nor am I able to learn to play an instrument if I'm completely tone deaf.
