Like I said, don't hate the country at all but when people go celebrating that they live in the 'greatest country in the world' then get real man. You don't live in the greatest country in the world. It's a great country. I've visited there many times, but the overpatriotic bullshit is stupid as shit. You achieved a lot and that's not saying anything bad, but other countries haven't? Not completely indicated at you but I didn't think people would get so annoyed by my comment. I live in australia and in no way in hell do I think it's the greatest country in the world. /end rant

Nobody can do anything about it because elections are just a hoax anyways. All we can do is sit back and watch our home crash with plane tickets to England stowed under our pillows

That's a nihilist thing to say and let me tell you why that's bullshit:

The problem in this country isn't because the people are restricted to what they can do; the problem is that the people aren't doing anything to go above and beyond those restrictions outside of basic blogging.
They're not staying informed politically. They only listen to the generic slogans that pass off by people who want to feel clever about themselves. Phrases like "WELL I GUESS WE'RE GOING INTO A SECOND DEPRESSION. ONLY IN AMERICAAAAAA!!!"

Exaggerated responses like "WELL I CAN ALWAYS ESCAPE TO ENGLAND" doesn't solve the problem. It only transfers it. You'll still be ignorant of politics, you'll still be completely slacked off when a problem emerges, and you'll still be part of the problem.

That's what's wrong with this country. Not just the politicians.

Okay, then tell me what I myself can do. I could call someone important and make suggestions, constructive criticism, opinions. I could hold a sign in front of some camera from CNN or on a roadside. I could make a youtube channel dedicated to changing america and it would not do one little smudge of a thing. What is there to do that you see that no one else in all of the US has figured out, please tell, it could save the country.

You stay informed, with legitimate political info, not just catch phrases and slogans, or what's on the usual blog; get as many sources as you can.
You don't have to make a dedicated channel; fanaticism might do more harm than good.
Participating in a single, serious discussion, and informing others is all it takes.
The problem with thinking that there isn't much change you yourself can do, is that it implies you alone are going to be doing it.
You're not. There's other people out there who want to bring change to the nation, one way or another. You don't have to sit outside in the pouring rain struggling to hold up a sign with a url on it, trying to get the attention of a generic news reporter. Just staying informed is all it takes, and spreading that information.

you realize staying informed on political information IS sitting and watching america fail. Most political information is about failing economy, something about gay people and immigration disagreements. I talk to plenty of people on how america could get out of the crapper possibly though it doesn't do a thing because it's a conversation unheard and unwanted by the leaders. Everyone I know knows we need to change, but its the knowledge that to actually change something you must have money, a degree in law, you have to know the right people to get you high up in office, and you must go you(who brings hope) vs. the crap leaders who havent and cant do anything. What's sad is this crap government IS one of the best places to live in the world. No nation is anywhere near being good because no nation ever updates their laws for modern times.

Other Then the book there's loads of evidence that it works, and as compared to religion, something created by people long time ago with no evidence whatsoever. Your knowledge is flawed science is supported by more then just a book, it has visible evidence as well. so shut up and go cry to god about your flaws.

Hey fucktard, why don't you be a good Christian now and admit what you said was stupid. Doesn't it say in the Bible that fools hate correction?

Actually I'm pretty sure people believe in science because there's a shitload of testable evidence, as opposed to religion, which has a book written by a bunch of old men thousands of years ago.

People don't literally say the word sigh in a sentance, like he did. Its an arrogant thing to do in a comment.
