Hey there. I'm just your regular guy, playing games and using any spell used against me. I run a Youtube channel at Youtube.com/BlueMagicReviews but I have stopped uploading to it due to technical difficulties. Need a better video editor, you know? Anyways! Thanks for stopping by, but I'm confused why you're here. I don't even post content on this site.

To better explain, this is from the manga Ranma 1/2, and this part is merely a sub plot somewhere early in the series. The idea was that Ryoga, the man on the left taking up most of the picture, found an ancient master of Calligraphy that gave him a marking on his stomach. This marking gave him the strength of a God, making him unbeatable at the cost of...

In the end, the only way to remove the marking, was to be defeated. He was defeated by...

Problem with password protecting things is

Kid brother finds out, complains to parents, parents force him to remove his passwords or share with them so they can monitor his behavior.

Shitty handwriting can easily look exotic and beautiful if you don't know the font. I don't think it's necessary to be an artist or anything like that to write like this.
#103 - IamPinhead (12 hours ago) [-]
>you have to have good handwriting for something like that
East Asian languages (like Korean) and Arabic both have a lot of freeform writing and speakers/readers have no trouble with it.

Well... have you ever seen Chinese cursive? It looks like illegible chicken scratch and yet many Chinese people still write like that.

Do you know what else you have to change to show how it's pronounced?
Every soft g in the english language.
People who say jif have an argument for every point put forward in support of gif
giffers are just like "no it's not pronounced that way", and even then they're just like whatver still going to pronounce it this way
I couldn't care less about how you pronounce but then everyone get's mad about how the other pronounces it.
Like it's not even a word it's an acronym.

All examples of acronyms that are pronounced nothing like the words that make them up.

There is no convention for the pronunciation of an acronym. Basically whoever created it declares how it's said. In this case, it's pronounced like peanut butter, despite having words that sound different

Don't forget YOU started the comparison with COD, that's why I went with comparing them silly goose

I mean advertising blunders aside, the game's focus wasn't the parkour, it was just a feature of the game that made it more interesting than a lot of today's offers, and the movement mehcanics were a good click faster than the same lumbering slowness of them too

Remember that the game had an ai population, as I said. It was a fair bit harder to camp shortcuts considering waves of ai troops would be moving through the routes and rooms, and even taking said shortcuts, and a camper would find themselves eventually overwhelmed and flushed out by ai pressure and players sneaking up on them

I mean it's pretty clear it's been a LONG time since you've played it, since the experience I've had going back to it is a pretty far departure from the declarations you're giving me, which fit better with commenting on the features themselves and comparing it to games it was verymuch not like

THAT'S why I'm defending it bro
People seem to retain their judgement on it despite prettymuch forgetting what it was like, and I just begrudge that it was so forgettable despite, upon reminding myself, it proving to be pretty ok, certainly a step or two above the standard line that we have on offer to us today and in recent years

Frankly if you died just because you couldn't stick to cover then you just need to git gud
Not like TF2 has anything like a cover mechanic either
#17 - Rascal (8 hours ago) [-]
Has no one brought up that despite the fact the game looked great and played well and had nice class, weapon and character customisation, the AI was shit?

AI characters on your team play hard defence 25 out of 30 minutes in each round, then try to bum rush objectives in the last 5 minutes. It makes the campaign a nightmare.
User avatar #18 - captainprincess (8 hours ago) [-]

That's only an issue since the game is dead anyway

to me there are simply not enough moments of reward in the short term and there is too much preparation for a few kills. its what dota is and I'm not bashing it but I don't feel it anymore after playing lets say Dark Souls or even Shadow of Mordor. Growing up changes people. I feel DotA to me isnt a practical past time anymore.
#11 - bluemagebrilly (06/29/2015) [-]
Ehh, the only reward that game has ever really presented was either through events, such as the TI5 thing going on right now, or simply winning. Playing a game for more than winning or the potential item would be silly.

But y'know, to each their own. It's not unheard of for someone to get tired of a game, and I think no less of you for it. But! You should definitely try to see if you enjoy any of the custom games they put out recently. None of them seem to be fully complete, but Dota 2 may become the successor of Warcraft 3's Battle.net .

They already have custom models implanted into some of the games! I saw a Fate/Stay Night arena game with fully functional models. Felt like old times.

But anywho, I'm glad you enjoy some kind of game, but remember that your feelings are your own, and not necessarily true for everyone else. I find Dota is a good pastime, although I try not to play without some friend on the team... Difficult to converse with stubborn people.

It wasn't a massively stylized departure from photorealism but it had a powerful flavour to it, that's for sure

Movement was NOT slow at all. It wasn't lightning speed, sure, but the lightweight classes certainly got around well enough, and the parkour system facilitated that pretty well

And no, it wasnt cover based, but get under something I meant slide under low obstacles with a space underneath, to pass into different map sections with shortcuts. IN the same way you could vault over objects to do the same thing, and in some levels there were zip lines and vents and things of that nature

Brink definitely > COD by several factors, warts 'n all
#6 - bluemagebrilly (06/29/2015) [-]
I disagree with it having a powerful flavor. To me, it seemed pretty standard. Similar to TF2 in a way, but not quite cartoony. Maybe more like Borderlands. That was how I felt back then, and it still seems pretty standard now that I view a few images. But to each their own, everyone has different views on art.

Movement was very slow for a game that made the 'parkour' movement the highlight of the game. Compared to COD, again, it was probably faster, but it was far more clunky.

That's the problem I had was that there was no 'move to cover', so if you got shot at, you were dead. Sliding and the lot did nothing, and short cuts? Pointless in most of the games I played, because either someone would be there waiting, or they'd just shoot you down after a brief fight because your team wouldn't be with you.

Brink =/= CoD. The two can be compared for similar nature, but I don't think either really ups the other, except in terms of quantity. Brink, after all, died. CoD is still going, even if a lot of people don't want it to.

I am truly surprised that you are actually defending the game, but I personally cannot see why. The game is ... well, dead. While it had potential, it was poorly executed. Shouldn't have made the game so heavily based on just plain shooting, and made it more similar to TF2, especially after the whole class system was introduced.

At any rate, I'm sorry if I upset you with my retorts, but that's just how I feel about that game. I will never be returning to it unless it comes back with a complete overhaul and different feel.
