I take great pride in getting the first pictures of Sheogorath from Skyrim (as far as i know), it might not seem apparent, but when i tried to make his face my profile picture, the only pictures of him were from my steam profile.

bets fucking card in existance

Could you imagine using this? You could just give him a smartass look as he tries to figure out what the hell just happened.

Despite how powerful it's ability is though, door to nothingness is a horrible card.
User avatar #48 - kurusudarling (10/24/2014) [-]
vortexrain is right though cards cool. i run a deck with 4 of them, nothing but counter spells fog and other prevent damage cars, only creatures are like lanowar elves and shit. then i just mana ramp postpone and boardwipe till i can trigger it. hasnt lost yet. barely even use it at uni because my friends know it and hate playing against it
User avatar #89 - whiterabit (10/24/2014) [-]
Have you ever brought said deck to fnm (when door used to be in standard), states, a grand prix, ptq, etcetera? Because that's what I'm referring to. Casual play is fine; it's fun. But by terrible card, I mean that in the many years of its existence, it has never seen play in a competitive deck, because it's a terrible card that is outclassed by countless others/
User avatar #36 - vortexrain (10/24/2014) [-]
Other than the cost to use its ability, I don't see anything wrong with it.
User avatar #37 - whiterabit (10/24/2014) [-]
The cost is exactly the problem, too much color, and too much mana in general. It's been printed a few times, and never made it's way into any good deck in the history of ever because why bother with it when you could have either of the other two cards, Progenitus or Karn, Emrakul, or Griselbrand on board on turn two, often turn one. And there are a thousand things in the game that blow your opponent out of the water so much more efficiently are easier to get out.
User avatar #51 - alucardthemagician (10/24/2014) [-]
Cards like door, Karn, Progenitus, Emrakul, Praetors, etc.. are better in EDH because of the way the format is structured and how easy it is to use politics to keep yourself alive.
Then you tooth and nail for a Craterhoof and a Vorinclex and everyone cries.
User avatar #87 - whiterabit (10/24/2014) [-]
Actually, everything I listed is done in competitive legacy. My deck can play turn Karn or Blightsteel Colosss with lightning greaves to give haste. Others can play turn one or two Griselbrand, draw their whole deck and win. And so on, it can all be done easily, but there is no way to activate door that early, or even anywhere close to that early.
User avatar #111 - alucardthemagician (10/26/2014) [-]
Oh no I know about the silly self mill narcomoeba wombo combos in legacy and vintage
User avatar #41 - gelind (10/24/2014) [-]
New meta is all about 3 color decks and giving you mana for 3 color decks, so things like this are extrememly useful now, you can run a 5 colored deck easily with all the new lands.
User avatar #88 - whiterabit (10/24/2014) [-]
New meta in standard yes, but door hasn't been in standard for years... plus every standard deckaround is more than capable of winning long before a door is on board.
User avatar #102 - gelind (10/24/2014) [-]
Ehhh, I dont play official rules, I just play with friends anyway. I didnt realize it was not officially usable.
User avatar #108 - whiterabit (10/25/2014) [-]
Depends on the format, just can't be used in standard. Modern and legacy, yes, but it's not recommended
#39 - artaisiousx (10/24/2014) [-]
thumbed because you make sense, its all about mana efficiency.
