quick google gave me: "Dōjinshi (同人誌?, often transliterated as doujinshi) is the Japanese term for self-published works, usually magazines, manga or novels. Dōjinshi are often the work of amateurs, though some professional artists participate as a way to publish material outside the regular industry."

I was using extending your example, sorry if that wasn't clear. There are lots of directors who push their style too much, and whose styles wouldn't fit well. I personally hope they don't go too wild with the story, unless they're getting a lot of help from the original writers.
I hope they nail the rest of the team, too. Kusanagi is important, but I can see them messing up her relationship with Batou, or drastically changing the other characters and getting away with it, because they're more in the background.

I'm not sure if Snyder's characteristic style will fit well with the GitS theme, but I'm cautiously optimistic. However, I am wary about any sort of attempted localisation on any series, especially this one.

I was using Snyder as an example. While he has great visual shots, he is not the best storyteller. And I am not familiar with Rupert Sanders' work, so I can't assess his value.
I just hope they get the right mood. I don't care if they retell the first movie, start before she joined section 9, before she joined the military, or after the Solid State Society. I agree though, copying the show is a bit of a lazy way to do it, and will loose them some points.
I think the GiTS story vibe is important. And I hope Scarlet does her research on Mokoto. I don't feel like it's a good idea to add your interpretation of what the character should be.

Jury-rig, jerry-rig, jerry-built
A little-used definition of jury is intended or designated for temporary use. It’s a nautical term of unknown origin, and in its early use it usually appeared in the phrase jury mast, referring to a temporary mast put up to replace one that has been lost.1 This is the source of the verb jury-rig, meaning to assemble for temporary use, and its derivative adjective jury-rigged.

Jerry-rig is a variant spelling of jury-rig. One could call it incorrect because it entered the language several centuries after jury-rig and is obviously derived from a misspelling of the original, but it is widely used and is accepted by some dictionaries.

It would be easier to dismiss jerry-rig as incorrect if we didn’t have the separate adjective jerry-built, which means built of bad materials. Jerry-built may or may not be etymologically related to jury-rig (its origins are mysterious), but all major dictionaries agree that jerry is the correct spelling in this case.

Scarlet is good with action and has a lot of experience with wires, thanks to Marvel. I hope the script lives up to the anime story. Not saying they should pull from the show, rather tell the story in the GitS style. And hope the director doesn't muffle the story just to make the movie visually appealing Zack Snyder .

Ah, ok, I didn't mean something in there was foolish. Just thought it was somewhat related, and wondered who else had noticed it. I guess I could have used this .gif, but I thought it might have been taken more out of context.

Well, sorry for taking up some of your time. Have a nice day / night / whatever!

P.S. I didn't know you had put them there, nor did I realize you posted it, but I guess that makes more sense than the actual artist just randomly putting them there.

Yes, that .gif is always appropriate considering how everyone makes that face when they think of Excalibur. It just annoys me when people post images out of context. If you had said "Excalibur thread.", that would have been fine. There are a lot of Soul Eater and Excalibur reaction images that you can use. Have a dancing Excalibur.
