That is very cool. But what I meant was having to buy games brand-new. If I'm understanding it correctly, you won't even be able to gamefly anything to see if you want it, unless gamefly is able to rent special versions of Xbox One games. (unlikely)

I'm not fully sure on that too actually. As far as I understand, you can return your old games just as you would and its removed from your account (just like how you'd lose your game if you traded it in). Or you can even send it to your friend, digitally, and they get to have it. It's something to that extent, it seems a bit complicated atm but im sure its no big deal and it'll seem easy soon enough

That's actually kinda cool - if i understand it correctly. Basically how I see it is that you put your games on your system however you want to, then rather than just taking a game over to your friends house or something, you just log onto your account and you can play them like that. Same goes for anyone in your house who wants to play it. It seems like a really cool idea, its tough to see how it'll actually play out tho. Its essentially a more digital way of playing your games at other peoples houses. In fact, its actually probably cheaper if I get it right, instead of having a game per console, apparently up to 10 people in the same house can all play the same game off of one library - thus cutting the costs of having to purchase multiple games. It all sounds pretty cool, imo.

It's just the internet requirement I'm irritated by to some degree, it won't affect me much at all, but it's still irritating.

There are so many reasons why it shouldn't be there. Like those who live in rural areas without strong internet (or internet period), those who take their consoles on vacations where there may or may not be internet like myself, when the servers close or the internet isn't working, just so many reasons why offline gaming is pretty much a necessity in a console. I hope they change this either asap or at least down the road because any reason as to why it needs internet 100% isn't good enough to warrant it.

I really couldn't agree more, I can't believe how hard it is for people to except new technology and ways, but then again that's just human nature.

Technology isnt the problem, its the fact that developers are using business models that are alienating their target demographic and harming their own bottom line.
User avatar
#38 - bknob (06/09/2013) [-]
I disagree though, I don't think they're being alienated - at least it's not yet known anyways. As long as the games are awesome, function and they keep that all well and dandy as they should, I see absolutely no problem with adding more features or going forward on other ideas. Sure if they forget about the initial reason a console was made I can understand why people would complain, as I would to. As of now though, everyone just sounds like old people who don't like change and are stuck in their ways.
