What? What is your fucking point then? Posting a shitty image, a shitty grammatically broken description which doesn't make sense, and then you expect people to give a fuck? What was the whole point of making this when no one will give a single shit? Waste time? Oh, then good job!

Actually I am not wrong, Fj is the most intolerant of people's opinions. /b/ is not as bad as others claim it to be and Fj is also going full on nuts with censorship it is ridiculous. I got banned for posting an image with dildos in it then a few months later present wrapped up in a shape of a dick gets to frontpage. This site is dying so and the community is getting worse. I mean just look at your mods they are all dickless virgin bronies.

Like someone posted below me "Funnyjunk's community is the worst on the net". You guys are failed trolls and narcissists.

Okay, I have to agree with that.
Censorship on FJ has went full retard,
and people do tend to jump on the bandwagon all the time.
But when somebody tells a sob story, such as the late jett, the community is overall supportive. Or at least a few decent individuals are, I rarely ever see somebody that acts like a prick in that situation and not get thumbed down for it.

Gary Oldman is good, but no where near the best.
I'd say that actors who are consistently great are ones like Joaquin Phoenix, Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio (mainly for his work in Gilbert Grape and The Aviator). These are the ones that immediately come to mind. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was great, too. The actor that is consistently the best is probably DDay, with Joaquin following in close second. I admire the work of Nicholson and DeNiro [insert all of the legendary actors here], but the versatility offered in modern filmmaking (There Will Be Blood, Her, etc.) showcase their talent more-- which is why I tend to lean toward the present day greats.

Present day actors pale in comparison. They are just standing on shoulders of giants. And Gary Oldman is one of the best none of his characters sound or even look the same. Most Gary Oldman movies I watch I forget that he is Gary Oldman. Cannot say the same for Leonardo Dicaprio though most movies I watched with him I am always reminded that he is Leonardo Dicaprio.

Leo has the same look in a lot of his films since he hasn't done any truly tranformative movies yet. We should look at the variety and quality of his acting instead. In 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' he is mentally retarded, and plays it like DDay in 'My Left Foot' (even though those were two different diseases). He did a great job as Howard Hughes. Blew it out of the park with The Wolf of Wall Street and had several other great performances like Blood Diamond and The Departed. I haven't seen too much of Gary Oldman, only Harry Potter and The Dark Knight (if I remember correctly). But there are plenty of other actors who deserve recognition before him, like Joaquin.

I see your point. Oldman is very transformative, but that doesn't make him the best. I'm not denying his acting prowess, but I think there are plenty of other better actors out there:

DDay is great in There Will Be Blood, but no Joker.

And none of the films I listed were overhyped. Pulp Fiction is Tarantino's best. Drive is a masterpiece. Her was the best film of last year.
Don't claim that my love of modern film makes me shallow.
Who do you think gave the best performance of all time?

#102 - bjorntheberserk (03/23/2014) [-]
It is hard to say who gave the best performance but I can give you a list of actors who I think are the greatest.

Toshiro Mifune (Japanese actor known for his work with director Akira Kurosawa)
Max Von Sydow (His work with Ingmar Bergman is legendary)
Daniel Day Lewis (No explanation needed).
Gary Oldman (he literally becomes every role)
Robert De Niro (Especially for his earlier works like Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Godfather II. Even his role in Cape Fear was brilliant. Goodfellas was what he most famous for but he was really good in it. Also King of Comedy).

Some of my favorite films include:
-Drive
-Her
-There Will Be Blood
-Pulp Fiction
To name a few. And name someone who was better.

Ah that explains it. Most of your favorites are movies that have been produced more recently also been overhyped.

There will be Blood is the only one in your list that I can agree being a great movie. Which is odd because Daniel Day Lewis is actually a great modern day actor with scores of great movies and acting roles under his belt but yet you choose Heath Ledger's portrayal as joker as the "Greatest acting of all time."
