They have no plan to replace the jobs lost when we leave the EU.
On the contrary, UKIP plans to form free trade agreements with the EU once we leave, which they will agree to as they sell more to us than we sell to them - they need access to our market more than we need access to theirs.
besides which this will open us up to forming trade agreements with other countries around the world - something we are not currently able to do as members of the EU. All our trade deals are decided by the EU.
Leaving the EU leaves us open to making deals with the emerging economies of Brazil, China, India, etc

As for the benefits
-leaving a wholly undemocratic, bureaucratic system which sneers at democracy
-no longer paying £50 million per day membership fee to the EU
-regain control of our borders - every politician's promises about immigration are empty. we are constitutionally bound by the EU to keep open borders to other EU member states.
-powers back from Brussels . somewhere between 50 and 75% of our laws originate in Brussels, from the unelected, unaccountable European Commission. 100% of our laws should originate in westminster, and westminster alone.
-greater cooperation with the commonwealth
-get our waters back. EU nations are entitled to fish in our waters, costing our own fisherman and depleting our fish stocks.

They want to scrap the human rights laws the EU put in place. (death penalty could be reintroduced)
The European Court of Human Rights is a constant thorn in our side and blocks the deportation of known terrorists and criminals from the UK. UKIP wants to abolish the Human Rights Act and form our own Bill of Rights.
We will have to pay our fines for not living up to cutting CO2 emissions there and then. (will be a BIG hit to the economy which will also go into recession)
No we won't. We're no longer in the club, we no longer play by the clubs rules, we won't pay a penny.
They're going to completely scrap subsidies into green energy. (costing jobs and causing early deaths by air pollution)
Green energy - in particular wind farms in a huge waste of money and profits only the rich landowners who get a nice payoff for having windfarms on their land. UKIP wants to increase our usage of nuclear power which is by the far the most efficient and safest way to produce power.
They plan on scrapping minimum wage.
[citation needed]
We will lose pretty much all funding into our science industries (comes from europe)
And open up our institutes (which remain amongst the best in the world) to investment from the rest of the world.
90 hour working weeks will be legal.
[citation needed] (and even if it's true, don't want a 90 hour work week? don't sign a 90 hour contract.)
Apparently we're going to buy 3 new aircraft carriers (why?)
We're already buying 3 new ones anyway? The first one was named yesterday, and the "why?" is because we currently have 0.
Ban gay marriage
NOT if we leave the EU. UKIP opposes gay marriage only so long as we remain in the EU because the ECHR could force religious institutes to perform ceremonies for same sex couples.
Flat rate tax.
And no tax for minimum wage workers, no more national insurance and a higher personal allowance. Besides which taxation is theft.
Response to jobs lost from leaving EU to follow.

I can see you've put a lot of thought into this, but so have I. Not that I mean offence, this is just my take on it.

Human rights - I realise it means we'll be making our own rules, but I don't trust a part with known bigots, racists and misanthropes to make rules deciding that, even if it does mean deporting terrorists.

CO2 fines - yes we will have to pay them, we signed an agreement with the EU when we joined saying we have to pay off all our debts to them in full if we choose to leave.

Green energy - it's a growing industry with jobs that can't easily be replaced here, what's to stop our best and brightest going elsewhere to get better paying jobs in their well funded high-tech industrial sectors. And if this year has told us anything it's that air pollution is getting a little out of hand in london.

Minimum wages - www.hopenothate.org.uk/ukip/ukip-business-spokesman-wants-to-abolish-workers-rights-3698 it hints more at anti min-wage sentiment in their ranks, but even if it's kept in place they want taxation to start at 25-31% for those making £11,500 a year, which is less than minimum wage and full time anyway. source (www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-22396690)

Science! - Our scientific institues are currently open to investment around the globe, hence why we have pfizer here (american) and this is something I care quite a bit about since it's my chosen career path.

90 hour working - www.ier.org.uk/blog/ukip-workplace effectively they'll be making up new workers rights, which I assume will be more in benefit of the employer and further turn us into wage slaves.

Aircraft carriers - we currently have 1 under construction and 1 planned. I know we have none at the moment, I ask why, because we don't need to be arming up, we need to be fixing the economy. Aircraft carriers cost a fuckton and UKIP has further plans for a 25% increase in the size of our armed forces and 4 new nuclear subs armed with US missiles.

UKIP might force the conservatives to actually be conservative/right wing again, and to get us out of the EU.

Out of interest, what's your problem with UKIP?
User avatar #229 - biomedic (05/27/2014) [-]
I think it would be very bad for UKIP to win because their intended policies don't really benefit the people like for example:
They want to scrap the human rights laws the EU put in place. (death penalty could be reintroduced)
We will have to pay our fines for not living up to cutting CO2 emissions there and then. (will be a BIG hit to the economy which will also go into recession)

They have no plan to replace the jobs lost when we leave the EU.

basically, I just think weighing up the pros and cons, it's not worth it. Europe is a give take relationship and it's not worth losing what we get.

Do you support them? I'm just curious as to what you feel the benefits are.
