Except it wasn't really built the third time they just used a planet as a station for it and it wasn't called the death star.

It made me so fucking angry, I mean srsly? Couldnt you guys come up with something new? Noooooo we make a bigger Death star for rebels to destroy. And dont even get me started on the virgin inside the mask.

Three times? No major spoilers please, but was it in the 7th movie? I haven't watched it yet. I only remember 2 death stars, one in 4 and one in 6.

They kill a whole family of Deathstars in the new movie. Including the wife and children. It is very sad. Get the fuck out of this content if you don't want anything spoiled for you.

I am neither confirming nor denying anything but... you say you dont want spoilers.... about star wars.... on a content that is called "Star Wars".... and you click on a spoiler eye in a comment on this content.... WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?!

Star Wars: TFA is a soft reboot of the original Star Wars. the main conflict of the movie is a literal planet sized death star.

You'd think they would've learned their lesson - Third times a charm? Nope.

For the third fucking time there is one spot which can be easily accessed, or at least was easily accessed enough, to allow the entire fucking thing to blow up. The captain didn't even take a bullet for the order she was seemingly devoted to and straight up dropped the shields without protest.

I think Phasma is a double agent for the rebels
#47 - anon (12/25/2015) [-]
my brother and i were discussing the use of double agents last night, so could i ask your reasoning behind this? do you have any ideas/proof about her being a double agent or is it something you just think?
User avatar
#71 - zetsuboukamina (12/25/2015) [-]
Don't know the reason, but why would someone so loyal give away the secrets to destroy everything just to save her life?
User avatar
#8 - mrmask (12/25/2015) [-]
well I dunno man, shields surrounding the planet that you wont pass through unless you have permission or warp inside at light speed (which should not be even possible, at the speed of light you wouldn't even have a micro second to stop before you crash into the planet), then, in case you survived you need to deactivate those shields because one fighter isn't going to take out the structure covering that weak spot, and even then the structure was hard enough that the fighters couldn't damage it so Han and the kids had to blow a hole from the inside.
compared to Luke simply shooting a couple of missiles from outer space they really uped their defense...
User avatar
#19 - thepizzadevourer (12/25/2015) [-]
Yeah, it's not a matter of the First Order being shoddy on defense
It's a matter of making the defenses so tight only someone absolutely insane would attempt to dismantle it . . . and then the Rebels go and do it anyways.
#10 - anon (12/25/2015) [-]
Gotta wonder though;
If anything at light speed can pass through the shields, why not just "automate" as crappy a ship as you can and hyperspace the fucker into whatever you like?

Mass times Velocity imperial bastards...
#31 - solenguy (12/25/2015) [-]
If I'm not mistaken in the past (old lore) anything with a mass shadow would prevent hyperspace (stars, planets, big rocks, interdiction cruisers, etc)
in current lore I believe hyperspace another dimension and the velocity of hyperspace does not translate to realspace.
#17 - anon (12/25/2015) [-]
You have now realized the difference between science fiction and space opera.
#13 - hairybaboon (12/25/2015) [-]
Light speed a planet into things? hmmm.....

Kinetic missiles are fairly effective.
#30 - anon (12/25/2015) [-]
Yeah, the chineese made one that pretty much touches the edge of space and crashes into air craft carriers at mach 10.
#33 - hairybaboon (12/25/2015) [-]
I read about that. There's not much you can do to stop them either, especially once they are really hauling.

How well can they steer it though?
User avatar
#25 - huntergriff (12/25/2015) [-]
that's...basically the idea behind the death star and others like it.
#26 - hairybaboon (12/25/2015) [-]
Death star and other like it used lasers of sorts to destroy stuff I thought. Not kinetic energy
User avatar
#27 - huntergriff (12/25/2015) [-]
I read it wrong.

#7 - needsauceadmisblan (12/24/2015) [-]
yea i know but the captain wasn't brain washed that's the issue with that. to the captain its just a job. besides id argue that the first one was v1.0 the second they destroyed in construction was v1.5 as it was never finished and thus not operational. make the star destroyer or what they called it v2.0
