(just make sure you don't burn out your torque converter by doing a brakestand but being heavy enough on the brakes so your wheels aren't actually spinning and just instead taking all of that energy out on your torque converter.

judging by what my manual is showing I should just be able to unbolt that front portion that you see in that picture and pull it right off and get right at the heater core without having to mess with the dash. hopefully if I can get at them.

Huh, that wouldn't be terrible, I guessed you'd have to go through the glovebox or something since I saw all the RTV or whatnot sealing that up, but, that will be considerably less difficult.

Yeah, that sucks, good luck with that, heater cores are a bitch and a half, and they're always put in the worst, hardest to get to places, like, I love having to tear apart my entire dash just to get to them. (Sorry, was away helping my dad deal with a scam caller)

the other night when I got done with work I was waiting 20 minutes for the window to defrost but gave up because nothing was happening and as I was driving home it was getting worse. buy the time I got home there was only a small portion of the window I could see out clearly.

That sounds about right, probably just the direct area around where the air from the defrost vents was hitting the windsheild?

It wouldn't be to bad if it didn't extend under the fender. it just bugs me a bit because of how much I drive it just for fun or going to work. but if I really need to I can still use my other car
User avatar
#13701 - basshead (03/31/2015) [-]
Yeah, I know how that goes. WHen I'd first gotten the olds the heater core was capped off, we'd been told at least, because the heater was stuck on full defrost/heat, so we figured w/e, when it gets cold we'll just reconnect it and everything will be fine ebcause that's what I'll need through the winter anyway. But then I discovered after I reconnected it that it covered all of my windows on the inside with a really damn thick and hard to remove fog, which I discovered was antifreeze... The leak wasn't as bad for mine thankfully, but that fog made it remarkably hard to drive, especially since it didn't just wipe off because ??????.
