The reason that there are no posts bashing atheism is because atheism makes sense.
#133 - proriginal (10/08/2012) [-]
I see it both ways, but then again I don't really care either way. I will just go on being my little ole' atheist self and not shove my lack of beliefs down others throats. There are ignorant people everywhere debating shit they don't fully understand, I don't lose faith in humanity over it, I just get my cheap entertainment out of their stupidity and appreciate the intelligent a little bit more :)
User avatar #131 - pokemonstheshiz (10/08/2012) [-]
I think Christians aren't in as great a numbers as Atheists on the internet, therefore there are less of the douchebags. Not that it makes these posts okay, just pointing out why it may be.
User avatar #135 - awesomeguyTS (10/08/2012) [-]
Yeah, good point. I try as hard as I can to not shove my religion down other people's throats, but I just can't stand it when soeone tells me that I am stupid due to what I beleive in.

no matter what you believe or like or do, there's always somebody who thinks you're an idiot for doing so. I just try to live and let live, and hope others do the same.

'The fact is people need a reason for life'- not a fact, i don't need one, no one does, people think they do and thats the problem
User avatar #485 - awesomeguyTS (10/08/2012) [-]
I don't think needing a reason for life had anything to do with my comment, but in any case, since when were you the person to decide what people need. If someone functions better with religion, then who would you or I be to stop them, just like how you seem to be functioning without a problem without religion, I wont stop you from being Atheist, so long as you don't try to stop me from being Christian.
User avatar #490 - ZOOTAllures (10/08/2012) [-]
shit sorry that was a reply to another comment, but i'll still counter. no you won't stop me from being an atheist, you will never stop me, the only way to stop me would be to kill, a policy the church has only recently recinded.
Christians play the hippy all loving game ( can't we al just stop arguing and get along, im not disproving you so why you doing it to me bbb-bullshit). But lets not forget when religion was strong, when your leaders had the power, and the people that were burned and tortured and excommunicated for daring to have a logical thought and not bowing to the celstial disctater. Why make the choice to be a slave.
User avatar #493 - awesomeguyTS (10/08/2012) [-]
That all happened because people were dumb back then, which had nothing to do with the religion, but more with the people following it. If an Atheist does something insane, they are just crazy, but if a crazy person that happens to follow a religion does something crazy, then the bad Atheists will be the first to point out that the religion was at fault, not the person. By the way, I have Atheist friends, and I have friends that are more Christian than I am, and we can all get along reasonably well. Also, what is a disctater, I'm guessing a computer program that makes potatoes, and I am not a slave, I feel more free with the reassurance of the afterlife. Here, since you are a logic guy, I'll put it this way. When I die, If I'm right, I go to Heaven, and If I'm wrong, then nothing at all happens. When you die, If you are right then nothing happens, if you are wrong, you get Hell. Christianity seems to be a pretty good deal to me right now...
User avatar #499 - noblexfenrir (10/09/2012) [-]
I know I'm not much involved but I have to say if you are right, and religion wasn't the cause of the craziness, is it possible that instead of being the cause, religion was the product?
User avatar #497 - ZOOTAllures (10/09/2012) [-]
thats not a basis for belief, just becuase you fear something doesn't mean its true. Plus your threat of hell isn't a threat as hell doesnt exist. Your argument is called Pascal's wager and its been shown to be a ridiculous statement for at least 200 years, look it up.

The Ultimate dictator is God, the leader who can convict you of thought crime and demands you love him and praise him on pain of having an eternity of torture. You believe simply becuase your fear of this dictator forces you too, i say no fuck him and fuck anyone that tells me i should bow my head, do as im told and thank my capture for being so merciful as to let me live shackled, no fuck that.
I am born free, and so am free and fuck anyone or anything that tries to control me like a shephard over their flock. I am no sheep.

You know... I really don't know how to feel about the latest episode.

It was really sad, but I was sort of getting tired of Amy and Rory. It's time for a new companion. However, seeing the Doctor so sad is what made me have a terminal feel.

When it comes to futility I think Waters of Mars was the sadist.
So you're right, it is sad in that aspect, but I think that the fact that we all knew it was coming and that they literally lived happily ever after (one could argue it was more of a "happily ever before" but that just sounds silly) makes it a lot harder for me to feel bad about it.

But I'm not about to tell you you can't be sad, that would be pretty stupid.
