That's fine.
You play it your way and other people will play it their way.
Nobody has to play by someone else's standards in a game with character customization. I generally play only male characters, but I created a female in Skyrim a few weeks ago for my 4th playthrough, mostly to hear something different when I take damage

Sounds good, dude. But, you know, there doesn't need to be a lot of them, they just need to be present, and be interesting.

In games like WoW or most rpg's I never choose a female character, mostly because I am as a man can't really relate to them. But if it's a game where you play as a female character like Burial at Sea or Life is Strange or something like that, I can relate more because the character is already there to work with, otherwise I always choose male.

I am a girl who plays as a guy sometimes. Presumably for the same reasons as some guys play as girls. It helps to break the barrier between real life and the game.
If you tone down one of your choices though, more people might be on board with you. People sometimes play as the opposite sex to increase the entertainment level. Not just for the sexuality, but for the appearance as a whole. Instead of roleplaying as the character, they roleplay as a demi-god. The character exists for their entertainment and so fits the desirability mold. Character as puppet instead of avatar so to speak.

Lmfao you are reading way too much into it to try and make yourself feel superior over something trivial.

Some people play RPGs to act out a story. The "RP" part of "RPG".
People that aren't woefully uncreative find it easy to play as a character of any race or gender, if it creates an entertaining story in their heads.

dialogue for me mainly. its fun to see the other side of the main character. in a lot of games the character is given a certain personality and nothing you do changes it. so seeing what the female version says is always interesting. then i just like looking at a pretty girl for most of my game is that so wrong?

Female casters in Dark Souls due to the men looking fucking weird in witches robes

In cases like Mass Effect, the female character might have better voice acting Jennifer Hale is fantastic

In other cases, it's just fun to do something different. Maybe you invent a story for this new character that would be better suited for a female protagonist. Same as anything else. You got the big muscle bound slayer of worlds? That's cool. You can also have this small, nimble, burglar chick not unlike catwoman.

It's all about that character development yo.

i like playing dress up thats my only real reason the clothes models look better for female in most games

That's some pretty shit logic my friend.
It's a fantasy world.
Might as well suggest you can only play as a Redguard if you're black.

I just don't understand the fantasy of playing as a woman. I love to role play in my games, I get way too into at points and it's upsetting when they just don't have the choice you want. When I think of role playing, it's an extension of you that you made specifically for that world and lore, so you are cross dressing in my eyes. In fact, I'm in school right now for media arts and animation designing characters for a video game I one day hope to make, and I want sliders galore for your character creation so go ahead be as creative as you want. But I just don't see the appeal in playing as a woman when I am a man.

I like warrior women, and there really isn't enough of them in fantasy media or literature. Skyrim, Warcraft, and other such games let me make one.

The orc lady I rolled in Skyrim is probably one of my favorite character concepts, who I've used several times in both D&D and vidya. She's a historian/anthropologist who also happens to smash things with warhammers or flails, sometimes axes, and wears heavy armor, since delving into ancient ruins can be so dangerous.
User avatar #154 - aviators (02/19/2015) [-]
Well I'll take note of that. Like I said in my other comment I intend to make video games I've actually had a world in my brain since I was 12 and have been creating it ever since. I hope one day when my game is out you'll be satisfied with the abundance of women warriors then.

land is still land and it's a waste of tax dollars going to people who aren't necessarily gonna better their lives from it. They might just mooch off tax dollars to live their steady lives instead of facing the misery of living on the streets and being motivated to change their lives for the better
